Spring Bling!

Wow, have I been busy this week! I can hardly believe that it's Friday tomorrow. Time sure flies when you're thrifting and crafting.

A couple people thought that maybe these jewels on a stick were hat pins, but I think they are a little too long for this. To me they just look like some broken jewelry that has been soldered onto a metal stick, but they look pretty cute in my little pots, don't cha think?

I have been working on a little project for a while now that I finally completed.Got this neat little trunk last summer at Goodwill and thought it needed a little something to make it look a little cuter.

(Before)

First I covered it with some vintage sheet music.

(During)

Then I glued on some neat vintage scrappy images and voila! I'm done.
(After)

I forgot to take a picture of the inside, but it is just covered in some black and white paper. I thought of doing the inside too, but I thought it looked okay the way it is. I took this little cutie over to Monticello today where I hope someone will see it and decide that they can't live without it.

Today Tammy and I got together for our thrifting "date." Let me tell you, we had so much fun. We kind of thrifted our way to Monticello stopping at two Goodwills, the Deseret Shop and Value Village. We both found lots of treasures and Tammy found some great display pieces for some shows she has coming up.

Here's Tammy at Goodwill with lots of goodies she found.

Tammy had never been to Monticello so we ended our shopping day there. Doesn't she look like she's having a great time? We stopped for a little lunch at Monti's (little cafe in Monticello) and finished our shopping.

Here are the results of my day of thrifting including a couple things I found at Monticello.

I won't bore you with a list of everything, but if you want to get a better view go ahead and click away.

Here is more bling I found today.

But my favorite finds of the day would be these:
vintage millinery corsage and little mirror

and these:

vintage birthday candles and cute little doll in a pink dress.

Well, I'm all tired out from all that shopping.

Have a fab weekend!

The trunk turned out wonderful and such wonderful finds! We don't have many thrift stores in our area, you make them look like such fun and you find such great stuff!

Great job on the trunk!!! Is that just normal old sheet music? And then do you modge podge it on? I have a bunch of old music from my father-in-law is that the kind of stuff you use?

And another question - might you be wanting to sell that pretty mirror? And what might you ask for it if you were? Just wondering!

Your blog is really great too by the way - I always enjoy your posts! I need to be as good as you showing what you all thrifted, I have a big stack to take pics of, but it seems when I am home, there isn't much sun! Do you keep most of your things, or sell most? I love to collect things too, just wish I was better at knowing what to do with it!

Have a great weekend!

Looks like you had a wonderful day! Exactly something that I'm ready for, too, but gots to keep my nose to the grindstone. Too many ideas and too little time! Love the trunk - looks like it is an unusual size?!? Have a great weekend, Martha

Very fun things, but I especially love your case/box.

I have a vintage train case that I made over in a similar way and I really do love it so much. It goes everywhere with me.
