Wow! Where did this week go? Where did February go, for that matter. Time is a flyin! Spent this week playing catch up from being gone last weekend. Laundry, etc. Did a little thrifting too and found some cool stuff, but this post isn’t about that. It’s about something else.
Last summer, a very nice gal who was getting out of the antiques biz and was moving out of her gorgeous home, invited Isabel and me over to preview her garage sale. She had tons of cool stuff and I bought a lot! Including this:
It was the first thing I saw and I loved it. The rusty patina was perfect, but I wanted to swap out those funky composite type shelves for some glass ones. The wheels on it were in sad shape too so I replaced those. Here is the finished piece for sale at the Barn House Vintage Marketplace last July.
It was one of the first things to sell and I could have sold it several times over. Sweet Jill of Forever Cottage bought it to use it as an unconventional sofa table in her great room.
I love where it landed.
One of the fun parts of selling at shows, as opposed to selling at a shop or mall, is you actually get to meet the people who buy your stuff and see the excitement when they fall in love with something I fell in love with too. But rarely do you get to see how that piece is used and where it ends up. So, I was super excited when Jill posted the above picture on her blog.
On that note, I would like to invite you, if you have purchased something from me, either at a show or at one of my booths, to use in your own home, to send me a picture of it. I’d love to share it here on my blog for everyone to see. You can email it to me, if you would like, at athingforroses@hotmail.com.
Thought I would also show you this cute cabinet that Jill bought from my good friend, Mitzi, out of her Stars booth. I first saw the cabinet when Mitzi brought it home from a sale. It was so adorable and unique. Apparently Jill thought so too, and bought it shortly after it made it’s way to Mitzi’s booth.
Thanks to Jill for letting me use her pictures. She has a fabulous and lovely home and I couldn’t be happier that she has little something from me in it.
Hope you all have a wonderful weekend!
