Barn House Sneak Peeks

I have been way to busy to blog these last few days.  It’s crunch time and I am really trying hard to finish some projects for the Barn House Flea Market this weekend.  While I want some things to be a surprise, here is just a sprinkling of what I’ll be bringing.

DSCF1212

My button charm bracelets were such a hit at Farm Chicks, I decided to make more using some of my best rhinestone/vintage buttons.

DSCF1213

Found this adorable pink lace dress at an estate sale recently.  It’s so much cuter than pictured and the back is as sweet at the front.

DSCF1209

Some of you may remember the rollaway bed I bought last summer (or was it the summer before?  Can’t remember.) Anyway, I decided to make a cute slipcover for it.  I am tickled pink at how it turned out. This also, is so much cuter in person. Just imagine this on your covered porch or deck with a bunch of fluffy pillows and maybe a vintage quilt.  I’m all about creating cozy places to nap or maybe snuggle up with my  favorite decorating magazines that I never seem to have the time to read.  On second thought, maybe I should be keeping this one for myself.

Well, that’s it for now.  I probably won’t be back until after the sale.  If you are in the area, I sure hope you are coming.  You can get all the details here. You won’t want to miss it! I’m getting so excited!

Barn House Flea Market

I have been a busy little bee these last few weeks, getting ready for the much anticipated BH Flea Market, July 31st.  Did I mention how honored I am to be included in this awesome line-up of some of the best sellers of vintage goods in the PNW?

I wanted to also mention how thrilled I am that there are a few buses coming from out of town to attend this fabulous event.

Timi, of Come Junk with Us fame, is bringing a bus with some junk loving gals from the Seattle area.  If you are interested, I know she has a few spots left, but you better hurry as this is the last week you can book it.  You can get more info right here.

Another bus will be coming from the Yakima area.  This one is being organized by the always lovely Flutterby girls.  You can get more info on that here.

And finally, just heard from my friend Jill that she and her friend, Emily are putting together a trip to Barn House from the Eugene, OR area. All information regarding this trip can be found on their blog Come Play Eugene. I first met Jill at the Coburg Antique Fair when she walked into my booth with the most lovely roll of vintage wallpaper.  I instantly knew that she was my kind of gal. Jill and Emily have done trips to Coburg in the past as well as holding art classes in Jill’s home four times a year.

Only 11 more days til the big event.  As I mentioned, I am really putting it into high gear and have some great stuff that will be making it’s debut at Barn House.  Here are just a few sneak peeks.

Vintage millinery flowers.

Cute little distressed dresser.

And one of my favorite estate sale finds from last weekend

An awesome vintage French style cabinet.  Love this and wish I had the perfect place for it. Maybe you do?

The front room of my house is filling up with these and other goodies.  I’m getting so excited, I can hardly wait.  I’ll be posting more sneak peaks in the days to come.  Hope to see you there!

She Shoots, She Scores

I was going to do a White Wednesday post today, but since I’ve been doing quite a bit of junking/shopping the last couple weeks, I thought I would show you what I’ve been finding.  I have had some really good luck and have found some neat stuff.  Some of the following will be joining me at the Barn House Flea Market coming up July 31st, and some will end up in my mall spaces.  Here we go.

DSCF1196

I have been finding some adorable vintage lamps lately and just yesterday I came across a box of vintage doll clothes at one of my favorite thrift stores. The stack of plates came from Value Village and I got the coat hooks at Aurora Mills.

Love these little dresses, especially that pink polka dot one in front.

Don’t you love this sign?  I found it and the flag at an estate sale.  The shopping cart with back basket came from a garage sale in my neighborhood. It will be getting a cool liner and will be coming to Barn House with me.

DSCF1195 More thrift store finds. I couldn’t believe I found a whole box of vintage flash cards.  I’ve never found them before.

DSCF1187

These hangers which I got from Randy at Madison Park as well as this super cool vintage hat are keepers.

DSCF1185

I was on the hunt for rhinestone buttons at Expo last weekend.  Here is what I found.

DSCF1184

Also got a bunch of glass ones too.

DSCF1186

Some cute rhinestone pins.

DSCF1189

Two cute vintage cotton slips. My favorite!

DSCF1190

Vintage long underwear.  Keeping one and selling one.

DSCF1200

Little thrifted dresser.

And finally,

Lovely floral hanging clothing cover.

Wow, all that shopping makes me tired.  I’m off to do a little housework now.  Hope you enjoyed my found treasures.  I’ll be working on some projects the next couple days so I’ll be giving you a few sneak peaks of some things I’m bringing to Barn House.

White Wednesday

Here are just a few White Wednesday things I snapped around my house this week.

 DSCF1152

Remember the little gold doll cabinet I showed two posts back?  Well, I painted it and forgot it outside when it rained.  Gave it a little sanding and was tickled pink that there was some original green peeking through.  I love this so much.  Not sure I’ll be able to part with it.  We’ll see.

DSCF1163

Found this cute metal rack recently at a rummage sale. Not sure what its original purpose was.  I added the rose decal of course, but I love it in all its chippy goodness.  Perfect for displaying a few of my vintage blingy bracelets.

DSCF1157

White lovelies waiting to be taken to the Barn House flea market.

DSCF1160

Found this little dresser last weekend at Goodwill for $10.00!  I had been looking for something like this to use as my bedside table (I guess I should have make my bed before I snapped this one) for awhile as I was feeling like I needed more storage. All it needed was a little sanding and some new knobs/pulls.  Love it!

DSCF1159

And finally, the little child’s hutch that I had to take out of my bedroom to make room for the new cabinet.  This will be heading over to my Stars and Splendid space this week.  I have loved it for a long time, now it needs a new home.

I will be heading over to the Portland Antique Expo this weekend. If you see me there, stop me and say hello.  It is one of my favorite shows of the year.  Lots and lots of great dealers and treasures!  Can’t wait to see what I will find!  TTFN!

Urban Barn

As I mentioned in my last post, I was lucky enough during our family vacation to pay a visit to the Urban Barn in Escondito.  Some of you that have been reading my blog for awhile, may remember my previous visits to La Maison Rustique. Well, the gals from La Maison Rustique, have now opened the Urban Barn. I was so happy to see my old friends, Sherry and Linda as well as meeting Mary, Sandra and Tricia who came all the way from Arizona to set up a special booth full of lovely things. I took lots of pictures, so sit back and enjoy the Urban Barn.

DSCF1100

This is Tricia. I bought some sweet bling from her and now wish I had bought a bunch more.  She is so adorable and her blog is lovely. If you stop by, tell her I sent you.

And finally,

sweet Mary.  Her space was as adorable as she was.  I noticed her running around when we first got there and I thought, “wow, that dress is short!” Turns out, she was wearing the most adorable vintage bathing suit.  Loved it and her!

Unfortunately I didn’t get a picture of Sherry, Linda or Sandra and I met another lovely gal who was working behind the counter who recognized me from my blog.  I so sorry, but I’ve forgotten her name.  I wish I could have spent the whole day hanging with these sweet ladies, but we had a family engagement we had to attend to, so we were off almost as soon as we got there.  The Urban Barn is amazing, and if you are in the area, I highly recommend a visit.  They are having their Grand Opening coming up soon.  Check out their blog for all the details.

Urban Barn ladies, it was a real treat getting to see you.  Can’t wait for my next visit!
