Mid Week Update

Well, I finally got my pictures uploaded onto my computer. Still don't know what the problem was. Oh well. Here is a picture of my thrifted finds from last week.

I love the cute little metal patio chairs. When I first saw them at Value Village, they were pushed together and from behind looked like a bench. My heart skipped a beat as I love little metal patio benches. Upon closer inspection I could see that they were indeed two separate chairs, but it didn't matter as they are still very cute and the price was very affordable. I think I'm going to keep these for now.

I also got a great basket at VV (perfect for holding wallpaper rolls), floral painting, linen table cloth, vintage heating pad with pink roses flannel cover, and a scrolly metal basket, not old, but still cute.

I finally got my butt in gear and have been working on some things for Coburg this weekend. Here is a before and after makeover on a vanity bench I bought at a garage sale last spring.

Before

After

Lots better, right?

I also finished another shopping cart. This one turned out so cute I think. I used this new, but vintage look fabric on the outside and some sweet pink and white check for the inside and ties.

I started a couple more projects yesterday. Here are the before pictures. I'll show you the after pictures on my next post.

These are a couple antique tables I bought on craig's list quite awhile ago. They were disassembled and I had my hubby put them together for me.

This old mail cart I got from Joy. It has great wheels on it. I ripped off all that ugly canvas and am going to give it a new look.

I have also been given an award I want to acknowledge and have been tagged to tell seven random things about myself which I will do on my next post as well.

Kids are both at school today. First day for my son, yesterday was first day for my daughter. Her report was that it was, "boring" and there were no cute guys there. I had to remind her that she is in school to get an education, not for the cute guys. You can probably imagine how well that went over. Hope your Wednesday is Wonderful!

Love all your finds! I can hear the big eye-rolling at the boy comment all the way over here.

Hi Lisa,
LOL about your daughter's comments. Luckily we're not at that point yet with boys (dd is in 2nd grade), maybe next year?:)
Your things look so great, I hope to meet you in Coburg on Sunday with my BFF, Melanie, of All-my-favorite-things fame. Her store is in Sellwood, and is so very cute.

Hi Lisa! LOL at your daughters comment. Sydney started kindergarten yesterday, and informed me that she has a crush already. hehe
Great redo on the vanity bench!

Lisa,
Love your before and afters and can't wait for the upcoming afters. :) You are such an inspiration. I love that mail cart and the shopping cart and and and everything! Cute about the kids. My 8th grader said it's "boring" but my 7th grader was bored to death at home, so she thinks it's great and my 3rd grader - LOVES her teacher. :)

I just love shopping carts and unfortunately passed one up a while back and have been regretting it. Great stuff.

That shopping cart is so damn cute! I love those!
The Hubs and I were going to try and come down to Coburg this weekend because I really want to go to one of your shows. I don't think it's going to happen. We still don't have our Mobile Estate back from the dealer yet. Dang it!

Oh, mom! Don't you remember the first day of school was ALL about checking out the boys? I can't remember a first day EVER for anything that I wasn't checking out the boys.

Love your finds and your makeovers. I wish I had time to do some projects like that. I think I'll send my shopping cart home with my daughter and let her line it. Yours is so pretty!
