What I got at Expo, Some Awards & a Fun Birthday Giveaway

Here are some pictures of the treasures I found at Expo.

Two adorable light aqua lampshades with ruffley lace, several smaller pieces of vintage roses fabric, and a lovely embroidered runner.

A bunch of vintage glass knobs, (from two different dealers) three rhinestone buckles, a mop pocket knife, guilloche locket, bag of buttons with several rhinestone ones, and a large piece of barkcloth era fabric.

Two partial rolls of vintage wallpaper, with roses of course.

Lovely barkcloth era twin bed coverlet. Isabel had the excellent idea to use this on the daybed I bought from her for my front room. I think it will be perfect for that!

I love this vintage slip/crinoline I got and wore it under a dress (peeking out) over jeans on Sunday. I thought it looked so cute, but Joy, and MaryAnn made me take off the jeans as it was way too hot out. Wish I got a picture of me taking off my pants in the middle of the isle, but fortunately for you I didn't. The velvet rose I bought from one of my favorite dealers, Susan a fellow dealer at Monticello. It looks red in the picture, but it is really pink.

I also bought a cute little three drawer cabinet which I unfortunately buried in the garage before I could snap a picture of it.

It may seem to some of you that I bought a lot of stuff, but actually I felt I really restrained myself and was very selective. I love everything I got and didn't pay much for any one thing. You all know that I am a thrifty girl.

Now for the award section of this post.

Fitty from Fittys Pinky Rose Cottage was the winner of my 100th post giveaway in March. She was so nice to honor me with the Brillante Weblog Premio-2008 award. Thanks so much Fitty! It's so nice to know that I have readers all around the world who appreciate what I am doing/showing on my blog.

This next award was given to me by Pat at Bird Nest on the Ground. It is the Artey Pico Award. This is the second time I have been lucky enough to receive this award. Pat is fairly new to blogging and has been such a wonderful and sweet frequent commenter on my blog. Pat is an amazing quilter. Please stop by her blog for a visit and tell her hi.

When I first started my blog back in July 07, I never would have thought that people other than my friends and family would read it. Let's face it, I'm not sure my friends and family do read my blog. Okay, maybe a few of them. But I never could have imagined meeting so many wonderful people I now call friends and getting awards for my blog? I'm so not worthy. So thank you so much! You all make this so much fun to do.

Today is my 43rd birthday! Yeah, I'm gettin old. To celebrate I thought it would be fun to give you a present. Okay, I can't give everyone a present, much as I would love to. So, I am going to do a giveaway for one lucky winner. Just leave a comment on this post and you will be entered. One comment per person please. What am I going to give away, you ask? Well, I'm going to fill a box with lots of my favorite things. To see what I like to give away you can look at the posts in the giveaways/swaps category on my sidebar to get an idea of the things I like to share. I will draw a name at random first thing Friday morning. Fun, right?

Hope you all have a fun day and I'll be back on Friday with the winner and some pictures of this weeks thrifted finds. Going walking this morning with my favorite girl and then off to pick blueberries. Tonight, dinner at PF Changs (good thing I'm walking today). TTFN!

You got some great finds at the Expo. I'm headed to Annie's in Snohomish this morning to see what fabulousness she found. I'm so jealous I didn't get to go. NEXT TIME!
Have a wonderful birthday, do something daring, out of the ordinary, or exactly what you want! It's your week (yeah, we should all have a birthday week) to do what you want!

Happy Birthday! I love your blog and am truly disappointed when I check in and there is no entry for the day...I love reading what your up to and seeing your pictures. I live in the Eugene area and found out about Monticello's from your blog. Made a trip up there during the Portland Gift Show (yes, I am a dealer also!) and loved all the goodies I got. At this end of the valley we don't always find all the good spots up your way. We are coming that way next weekend to attend the Barn Sale Flea Market so will stop in your space again. Thanks for blogging, Happy Birthday! Debbie

Happy Birthday Lisa! 43 is a great age. I'm almost there. Doing all the things my Mom used to do when I used to think she was soooo old - like using "cheaters" (glasses) for reading. Who knew it would make such a difference? :) I check your blog daily and so enjoy seeing all that you find. You inspire me. Thanks for signing me up! Happy B-day again. Angie

Happy belated birthday!!!! I just love reading your blog and seeing what kind of goodies you have uncovered. I wish I lived in the great Northwest, but alas, I am stuck in the South. Farm Chicks and Expo look like such fun. Maybe one day... Won't be before age 49, since that is a few days away...but maybe for the big 5-0, I will make it to your neck of the woods to shop until I drop!

Laura (who feels there is no time like the present for a dirty martini)
