On Friday morning I went with Isabel to help her set up for the Portland Antique Expo. This show is huge filling three enormous buildings with treasures aplenty. We arrived a little early and had some time to check out the dealers selling stuff in the parking lot. I found a few little things, but my favorite thing was spotted by Isabel. A small hat box full of awesome vintage millinery. Wee hoo! I also got some neat buttons from the same dealer.
Once inside I saw that Isabel had done a pretty good job getting the big pieces in place, we just had to do a little maneuvering to get everything else looking pretty. Once that was done I took off with
Martha for some serious shopping. It wasn't too hard to blow through my budget I have to say. But before I show you my haul, here are some pictures I took of my favorite gal pals.
Here are
Joy and Martha in Joy's booth.
and last but not least, Isabel's booth.
But wait, where's Isabel? Oh, there she is, scarfing a bag of chips. Isn't she such the dainty flower?
Speaking of flowers, on with the loot.
Here are the flowers I got in the parking lot, along with more I found inside and a hat I found too. This one is so pretty with lots of great pink roses, not sure I'll be able to take it apart.
Another view of the many flowers I found. Most were in the $1-$3 range, but I saw a lot more that were a lot more expensive that I didn't get.
Two cute, little, antique, metal picture frames, one with sweet older gal holding flowers.
Baby chick, baby spoon, sequin egg (thanks for the idea Suzanne, I think yours is prettier though), vintage trim and sweet little porcelain roses pin.
Two crinolines, one with pink, yellow and light blue, the other black (hard to photograph) and super padded roses hanger.
Another tole tray for my already insane collection. (The bigger round one.)
And finally, lots of pretty buttons. Can you ever really have too many? I think not.
Saturday I was pretty tired, can't think of anything interesting that I would want to share, but this morning, my main squeeze and I headed over to the Polk County Flea Market. Great fun, company and shopping! I'll show you what I got in my next post. Hope you all had a really nice weekend!

Wow the booths looked great I always love to see what everyone comes up with design-wise. Judy(the better half of Iris) was at the Santa Monica Flea Market and one of the Vendors there was saying that she would love to go to Expo to shop. And from the looks of the great finds you have,No wonder. I love all the posies. See you at Monti's

We did have lots of fun and lol a lot I'm sure the neighbors weren't as amused with our antics as we were. We were all pretty exhausted but Sunday pm. Thanks for all your help see you soon.
JOY!
Wonderful booths and great finds! I'd loved to have been there, too.
i love those sweet colorful buttons, and old hat flowers you got! Tear off the flowers, tear off the flowers. You can do it... though I remember the first time my girlfriend suggested this I was shocked. I hadn't even considered it when I bought the little easter bonnet. But alas off those flowers came and now they are strewn about making everything lovely.
Have a great week, Dede
