Weekend Finds and Projects

We have finally been blessed with some lovely weather. This weekend was gorgeous and more nice weather is on the horizon. For me, that means I can finally work on painting projects and boy have I ever.

Saturday Isabel and I headed over to visit/shop at the Tarte Barn. It was fun seeing everyone including Joe and Jermonne, Diana and Donna and I want to send a special shout out to Florence who was so sweet to introduce herself to me. We also met the sweet girls from Ink & Peat. Definitely have to check out their store someday soon. Unfortunately, I didn't get any pictures, but you can see a bunch on Isabel's post.

I was really good and only got a few of these cute metal flower/candle holders for my pot. Now I need to find some candles. Where did I put them?

Here are a few more things I found this weekend.

The tiniest rhinestone pin and rhinestone button.

Tin can chair, rose decals, old bottle and another rhinestone pin, love them!

Big bag of vintage quilt pieces, which I already put into little bags, two adorable wire cows(perfect for Farm Chicks), and four flower frogs

I saw this dresser very early Sunday morning on craigslist. It was a steal, but as you can see, the top is in extreme shabby condition. I was going to leave as is, but I've had luck removing the veneer on a dresser before so I am going to give it another try. But, don't you just love the chippy goodness on this one? But wait! It gets even better. This is the mirror that came with the dresser. The bracket is also in sorry shape, but this mirror is to die for. Here's a close of up of the carved flowers. I was so lucky to get this as the seller had lots of calls on it. I guess it was meant to be. Other than the dresser, this has to be the "find of the weekend." I can't believe I found this. I dropped in at my old antique mall and there it was. It will be awesome with the green one I found on my trip to CA in February. Lots of lovely storage.

Some projects I've been working on include

painting hangers and adding cute little vintage rose decals

painting and spending hours removing some nasty contact paper from this cabinet

I have lots of other small paint projects in the works. What I really need to do this week is get busy on some big ones. I have a vanity, dresser, buffet, curio cabinet and two room dividers that all need painting. I'm sure there's more, that's all I can think of right now.

So, with the exception of going to Monticello on Wednesday, I'll be right here doing you know what. Speaking of Monticello, they are having their spring Home & Garden Sale starting this Friday. There will be lots of great guest vendors setting up in the garden area including Joy, Diane and Martha, Melanie, and my good friend Mitzi (no blog yet, but I'm working on her). I can't wait to see all the neat stuff they all bring. I know a few of them are posting some sneak peaks on their blogs so go check it out and if you can make it to Monticello this weekend, I'm sure you won't be sorry.

Have a fabulous week!
