Senior Prom in Pictures

My #1 girl went to the Prom on Saturday. I didn’t think I would ever see this happen. As you can tell, she isn’t what most people would call a “traditional” girl. I knew dress shopping would be a challenge, but it turned out pretty good. We picked up her dress (a vintage 80’s dress) at a resale store and made a few alterations. Paired with fishnet stockings, Doc Martins and her grandmother’s black beaded necklace, she looked beautiful. Her date went vintage too, which I just love. They had a great time!

Another kid milestone to cross off the list. Adorable pictures and fun to see what dress you ended up with (after your FB posts).

I love her look! I was considered a 'punk rocker' in my high school (back in the late 70s-early 80's). While I listened to punk/new wave music, my choice in clothes was my moms vintage '60s clothes (simply because I couldn't afford NEW ones). So I was labelled a 'punk' and I revelled in being different! I hate 'the norm'. Good for your daughter, she looks great!!

So cool! I think that's my dress from the 80's! Ha!

I see a cabinet in your driveway I might need! Seriously, are you bringing it to Farm Chicks???

Hi, I just stumbled across your lovely blog, and I'm so glad that I found you. We have a lot in common. I absolutely love to find a yard sale, thrift store, etc. item and turn it around into a can't live without treasure. There is the fun of the hunt, but even better, the process of the transformation.
Your daughter's Prom pictures are absolutely charming. I love it when I see kids that know who they are and do not conform to be a carbon copy of everyone else. Bravo, to her and to her date for being such a classy guy.
I am your newest follower. Please accept my warm invitation to visit and to hopefully follow me too. Connie :)

Lisa, they are so cute! Our family has several "non traditional" kids, too! Jordan surprised us once with bondage pants and Doc Martins, but that phased out - along with his 3 inch spiked hair. Ha!

Your daughter is so cute and her date smashing in his vintage attire.

Have a sweet day!
