Flea Finds, Back to School Kids and a Show You Won’t Want to Miss

I thought I would have a lot of great pictures of completed projects to show you.  Fact is, I have a lot of projects that are almost done.  I am so good at starting projects, not so great at finishing them.  But, I have a deadline, so I really need to get my rear in gear and get busy.  Coburg is on Sunday (we leave Saturday night) and I’m starting to get excited about my final show of the year.

Since I don’t have any completed projects to show, I thought I would show you my finds from the flea market last Sunday.

DSCF1282

Cute wicker basket, a big bag of watches including these, some buttons, jewelry and a little glass knob.

DSCF1286

Little shabby shelf.

DSCF1285

Two little boxes with drawers. The top one is getting the white paint treatment.  These are so great for holding lots of little bits and pieces.

DSCF1289

Gorgeous antique nightgown.  Love the lace and ribbon on this larger sized beauty.

DSCF1290

Not the best picture, but I was thrilled to find this adorable vintage petticoat.

DSCF1291

Another not great picture, but I always love finding little girl’s petticoat slip with crinoline.

This week was back to school and we have a tradition in our family to take a back to school picture.  My son started yesterday and as you can see, not too thrilled to have his picture taken.

DSCF1294

My daughter, had several potential first day of school outfits, and this is one she decided on.

DSCF1295

I like this picture better though.

If you are in the greater Portland area this weekend, Monticello is having their Fall Premier Show.

It starts on Friday with lots of really great guest vendors and continues through the 26th with vendors restocking their spaces frequently.  This is always a really great show.  See the Monticello blog for more details.

That’s it for me for now.  I’m off to sew a couple more shopping cart liners as well as hopefully finishing up a few of those other projects I mentioned at the beginning of this post.  I hope you are all having a lovely week.

Great pics of your kids!!
I'm bad about having too many projects going at once...exactly what I'm doing right now! Not enough hours in the day!
Your finds are great as always...hope you have a great sale!!

I'm loving the old Pocket Watch 'score' and those old Glass Knobs are what grace most of our cabinets and drawers in this old House we're restoring... as well as several vintage pieces of furniture from the 1920's and 1930 era... love them!

I always have too many irons in the fire too... so many creative ideas... so little time! *wink*

And I see that I'm not the only one who insists on the "1st day of School" photos! *LOL* Great that your kids still cooperate as they're becoming young adults, love their sense of style.

Hi Lisa,

I left you a comment a few posts ago, and know that you are so busy getting ready for the next show....I wanted to inquire about purchasing one of your button bracelets, I just love them, I love anything that is really rhinstoney.....I'm sure you get what I mean! I live in Reno and used to be partners with Tracey Buxton, I think you know her from Camas Antiques. if you could let me know if this is a possibility I sure would appreciate it! thanks so much! have a great show!

Have a great show -- I know your things will fly out the door! The pic of your daughter reminds me of my own first-day-of-school-outfit-angst all those years ago. :-)

Wow, looks like you found some great stuff! Love the watches, and the little tray. The kids look great. Hope they have a good year. My youngest just started college. I miss the younger school years. So fun!

How wonderful that you were able to snap those great pics -- it's always a rush on the first day of school. I've always taken a picture of my daughter, in front of our peony in the front garden. A shame that, this year, her last in high school, we were just too rushed to do so.

Wish I could go to that show! Love the first-day photos, and all of your finds. I think all of us suffer from the started-but-not-finished projects syndrome.

Love all the pocket watches. Something about old watches and clocks just draws me in.
Great back to school photos. We have the same tradition. First day of school is always bittersweet for me.
Summer goes by way too fast.

Oh how I wish I could find one of those slips... It's EXACTLY like the ones I used to wear when I was a little girlie... I didn't wear pants until I was eight and wore one of these (or two) every day.

Warm blessings,
Spencer
