Here is where I went wrong. When I got up early this morning (around 5:30am-my usual time) I went on the computer. Chatted with my new buddy Kim on Facebook. Then I decided to check out craigslist furniture listings. Really I blame these gals. You see, for the longest time I have wanted a bed outside. Only I didn't know how I could manage it what with all the rain we get here in the PNW and everything. So last weekend when I saw this,
I just knew I had to find one for my very own. What I'm trying to show here is the very cool rolling/folding bed they beautifully recovered. It's kind of hard to see as they have a lot of other cool stuff on top of it, but you get the idea.
This one is a full sized bed and even though I love how the back can be propped up, I thought I should probably look for a smaller twin sized bed. Well, as luck would have it. I found on on craigslist this morning for only $25.00. So after my walk, I got in my car and brought this home.
Okay, nothing special, but I do love the blue paint and the fact that I can roll it into the house or garage when it rains is a big bonus. Also handy for those extra house guests too. As soon as I unfolded it I ran around the house like a crazy woman gathering bedding to make it look cute and cozy.
Better, right?
Even better. My daughter decided she wants to sleep out here tonight.
I pretty much spent the whole day out here reading decorating books. So much for my clean house.
On another note, my buddy Mitzi who you have heard about here on my blog, finally started a blog of her own. You can see it here. Please drop by and give her a warm blog welcome. Lookie at this awesome dress form she is transforming into an amazing work of art.
Isn't this so cool?
I promise on my next post to fill you on all the details of my birthday/blogiversary giveaway!

Oh my Lisa, your outdoor retreat is beautiful. Funny thing, last week, I was treking all over looking for a twin bed to use outside. Didn't find exactly what I was looking for but remembered I already have a twin bed to use. (from another forgotten project) The mattress storing is what my hubby can't get past (what to do when the weather turns...) so I'm working on making something fluffy that I can at least fold or roll up. Wait till I show him your rollaway!!! Enjoy lounging - aren't you just loving our PNW summer!?

Hi Lisa, Your bed looks so sweet and romantic. My parents has one of these fold away beds at the cabin, I'm just wondering if they still have it. I seen one of those canopies at a yard sale for 2.00 and I didn't get it. What the heck was I thinking. I'm totally regretting it now.
Enjoy your Day-
oh my!!! how romantic...that bed looks just amazing...what a wonderful idea!!!
Lisa,
I can sooo identify with getting side tracked when I have really good intentions! Love that bed...I don't blame your daughter...I'd love to sleep there too! Beautiful job
Hugs,
Sandra
Oooooh, my sweet, sweet Lisa, I actually gasped when I saw that roll-away bed and the transformation, sugar!! You've inspired me to do the same thing. We're also in the west of Idaho - desert, though - and I've wanted an "outside space" to dream. I'm looking for one of those beds posthaste and hopefully able to do the same things, sweetpea. You did a FANTASTIC job with it!!! Squeeeeeeal........
xoxo,
Connie
Oh my gosh. I love that bed!! What a fabulous idea for creating a beautiful spot to relax outdoors and enjoy the weather. Now you have me wanting one of those for myself.. LOL
Oh...what a great idea. My girls always want to sleep outside. I think this was a good use of your time. Cleaning can always wait.
Oh my Goodness! I love the bed. Your going to start something in the PNW. Women will be knocking each other over @ sales for a rolling bed! ;o)
You had a temporary case of Easily Distracted Syndrome, EDS. Unfortunately, I have a severe case, that stuff happens to me all the time.
OMG, that bed is divine! Great job!!
I'm off now to check out Mitzi.
Have a fabulous weekend!
xoxo

Oh Lisa, If only you would have thought about this a couple of weeks ago! My sis sold the exact bed at our field sale. I should have snagged it then, this is to cute!!UGH!

LOVE LOVE LOVE IT!!! I'm so looking for one of those today. If you have one I need one!
I get nothing done as it is, having a bed like that would just seal the deal that NOTHING would ever get done around here.
Have a wonderful weekend
I luv the bed. The house cleaning can wait another day. Right? Can't wait to hear about the Giveaway. Connie
oh you lucky, smart and happy girl! i would love like crazy to have this on my patio!! i am sititng here in this awkwardly stiff chair with my feet up on another chair pretending i am lounging on the deck with my lap-top. i am inspired to be genuinely comfortable before the summer is out. You win the prize for the best post title. And that bed! My oh my! So you really chose lounging there over cleaning toilets? That's just CRAZY!

I love the idea of a roll-away bed. Why didn't I think of that! My husband loves to sllep outside in our gazebo. A roll-away would be perfect.
Smiles,
June
Such a dreamy little spot! That was a much better thing to do instead of what you were supposed to do!
Oh the outdoor bed looks so inviting. I'm with you. I would have skipped the cleaning for the day and spent the day outside enjoying the outdoor bed. There's always another day for cleaning. =)
Oh my NERVES I love that little outdoor bed/cozy nook/place for dreaming! DARLING!!!! xo
What a beautiful bed...I had a trundle bed, but could not bear having it ruin outside in the Georgia rains...I love your idea. I am going on a hunt for a cot like yours! LOVE IT!!!!!
