Then, Timi gives me a very kind blog award which I have seen going around. It is the Arte y Pico award. It is an award for creative and interesting blogs and I'm so honored that she would think of me. Thanks so much Timi!
On Thursday I made my weekly run over to Monticello with a few items and stopped at the thrift stores along the way. Unfortunately, pickings were slim and I only found a couple less than thrilling things. When I walked into the Goodwill store, I immediately spotted Debbie and her husband. Debbie is a fellow dealer at Monticello and fairly new blogger. She is amazingly creative and has a great eye for finding good vintage junk. Long story short, I bought a couple lamp shades and a neat chippy gateleg table from her and asked if she would make me a custom ticking wrist key chain for me. She was so sweet about all my requests and even gave me a little gift of some vintage ticking which she knows I love. Thanks Debbie! You are too sweet! I look forward to getting to know you better. Now that we ran into each other, we are bound to see each other all the time now.
The other day I did manage to hit the thrift stores closer to my home and found some neat things. Little white shelf, glass and brass lamp, wood tray, floral pillowcase, roses plate sweet light green slip, floral slipcover thingy, display cabinet, three pretty girls,
(sorry for this terrible picture)
and this cute squirrel. I think he's probably from the 50's. He has a tag that says Dakin on it and he looks like he's made of mohair. I could find a similar on on ebay so I'm not sure what he's worth. I paid a little more than I normally would because I thought he was so cute.
Here is a better picture of the display cabinet. I have already painted this little bugger and it turned out very pretty. I love the detailing on it. I still need to do a little more work on it before it's ready to take to Expo.
A better view of the little dolls I found at the Salvation Army. I'm told these are "Nancy Ann Storybook Dolls." Not sure which ones I got, but these will be added to the others I have found. They are all bisque bodies and have the cutest little expressions on their faces. Not sure if I will keep or sell yet.
Yesterday was the first day of my neighborhood's garage sale. While I didn't find a lot, I am very pleased with what I did find. Wood folding screen, cute vintage wood table, blue bookshelf, three mirrors (only two are pictured), bag of retro fabric and
these cute adirondack chairs for my yard. I have been wanting some for a while now for a spot in my backyard, (too awful to show you now) and at $5.00 a piece these will be perfect.
I have been busy working on cart liners, (two down, two to go) and painting the commode I found last week. It is turning out very cute. I have lots and lots more to do before Expo, but I will be taking a couple days off from working on projects/thrifting to go camping at the beach with the family. Should be a lot of fun! Next Friday is the 4th of July sale in Silverton so I will be back for that. Have a great weekend!

I would say you've done extremely well, my little dove!! I "LUST" for little shelves and cabinets. Please don't tell hubs!! But I also redid some lamps and they turned out simply wonderful and frou-frou-y and I'm just so happy I could spit!!!
Smoochies,
Connie
Wonderful!
Hi Lisa,
Thanks for leaving a comment on my blog. I linked over to you from Laurie at Magpie Ethel the other day. Did you just change your banner or did I have too much iced coffee today? Loved the beat up "laboratories" sign and the adirondack chairs. I would love to add you to my favorites if that's okay. Thanks! Pam

The words "my weekly run over to Monticello" make me so jealous! I've only been there once, last month, and sure need to find a way to get back to Oregon! That place is the best ever!!
Congratulation on this lovely award...you are most deserving. There sure are lots of sweet bloggers.
Love all your goodies and the darling dolls are the cutest....they remind me of the dolls I had when I was little...seeing them brought back happy memories. Hugs, Linda

I just stumbled onto your blog and I love all the vintage finds you got. Those andirondack chairs are great! Will you paint them or leave them as is?
Thanks for popping by to say hello at my blog. It was a treat to have you visit. I love your finds. I want to introduce your squirrel to mine. (Wow. Didn't realize how dirty that sounds! :-O!) Any-hoo...mine is ceramic, so a little cold and emotionless, but nonetheless, I think they'll get along just fine! :-)
Happy 4th!
Lisa:
