Still love me some roses, but the new name goes with both of the Cottage and Vintage Neutrals styles I have in my two booths at Monticello Antiques and Stars Antiques. </p> <p><a href="http://lh4.ggpht.com/-xGyEUXB2qXc/UhwjedwmT1I/AAAAAAAAI90/GzshwyrRvAs/s1600-h/pretty%252520old%252520things%252520sign%25255B8%25255D.jpg"><img style="background-image: none; border-right-width: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: inline; border-top-width: 0px; border-bottom-width: 0px; border-left-width: 0px; padding-top: 0px" title="pretty old things sign" border="0" alt="pretty old things sign" src="http://lh3.ggpht.com/-K85HaSDT0vM/UhwjfCUePXI/AAAAAAAAI98/ajcGw3I5gWQ/pretty%252520old%252520things%252520sign_thumb%25255B4%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="515" height="270"></a></p> <p>Working on setting up a new blog. Seems I have forgotten quite a lot since setting up this one several years ago. In the meantime, you can follow along on my <a href="http://www.facebook.com/someprettyoldthings.">Facebook page.</a> I’ll be posting pictures of projects, new vintage finds and provide updates on any shows/special events I may be involved with. </p> <p>Hoping to get my long planned for Etsy store up and running in October or November too. So, that will be something new! I hope you will come along with me on my new adventures.</p> <p>Added note: I will be leaving this blog open, but won’t be posting here any more. </p> Lisa Johnsonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09945412883411503173noreply@blogger.com341tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4712752442502672144.post-17438423490003899942013-08-05T08:50:00.001-07:002013-08-05T08:50:13.592-07:00Fall Premier Show/Enjoying Summer<p><a href="http://lh5.ggpht.com/-MPzaDY3ZAm0/Uf_Jrr0r3ZI/AAAAAAAAI7k/kpNOrbPtdXg/s1600-h/Fall_PC_2013%25255B3%25255D.jpg"><img style="background-image: none; border-right-width: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: inline; border-top-width: 0px; border-bottom-width: 0px; border-left-width: 0px; padding-top: 0px" title="Fall_PC_2013" border="0" alt="Fall_PC_2013" src="http://lh5.ggpht.com/-qLu0Q4LOvfM/Uf_JsKg5x7I/AAAAAAAAI7s/zU__O-zlwTg/Fall_PC_2013_thumb%25255B1%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="610" height="418" /></a></p> <p>I will be in the window for the Month of September during the Fall Premier Show. Each year this fabulous show is eagerly awaited for by local shoppers. I have been hunting and hoarding all summer some lovely things to bring to the window. I am excited to put it all together. It’s hard to believe that September is almost here!</p> <p>Here is just a sneak peek at a little of what I’ll be bringing.</p> <p><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhp_qw50boFzwaI1bPVXBEhJxTGvkbiNJL9D5robvvevNhI2mbmwIJRQOQH6HJPSQn04gZpAbTcLYQ8RNEtz04aW_4fq1iVA3N4MjqFtsTQU7zIEpef2bTf_Cq_I6uSPW6D2VF141OQNqLp/s1600-h/blingy%252520frames%25255B4%25255D.jpg"><img style="background-image: none; border-right-width: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: inline; border-top-width: 0px; border-bottom-width: 0px; border-left-width: 0px; padding-top: 0px" title="blingy frames" border="0" alt="blingy frames" src="http://lh4.ggpht.com/-K5CrzMX-s_g/Uf_JtABMGUI/AAAAAAAAI78/EcPPq8jKG5Y/blingy%252520frames_thumb%25255B5%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="520" height="268" /></a></p> <p>I had so much fun putting together these blingy frames. </p> <p>On another note, we took our vintage trailer camping last weekend to the beach. I’m happy to report that we had an amazing time and I am ready to go again. We are slowly doing minor repairs and I am waiting for the fabric I special ordered for the curtains. I can’t wait to get it and to get busy sewing. I’m in no hurry to do much more at this time. Plenty of time for that later. My husband already has a fishing trip and hunting trip lined up so the trailer will be getting lots of use this summer/fall.</p> Lisa Johnsonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09945412883411503173noreply@blogger.com39tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4712752442502672144.post-20379083444538247452013-07-26T18:03:00.001-07:002013-07-26T18:03:30.748-07:00Summer Happenings<p>Thought it was about time I jumped back on here. Been so busy enjoying summer. I have lots to share, but here are the highlights.</p> <p>At the end of June, my son went on a school history trip to Europe. While he was gone, my husband and I decided to take a little trip of our own. Since our daughter decided to stay in Eugene for the summer, we thought this would be the perfect time to revisit a small part of my husband’s youth and traveled to Boston and York, Maine.</p> <p>We had a great time staying at the Omni Parker House Hotel, walking the Freedom Trail, visiting the Boston Commons and eating at a lovely little Irish Restaurant.</p> <p><a href="http://lh6.ggpht.com/-W4gilKPB_oM/UfMcH9BHe7I/AAAAAAAAI3M/v3o6mji49Xw/s1600-h/IMG_20130629_191947_540%25255B5%25255D.jpg"><img style="background-image: none; border-right-width: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: inline; border-top-width: 0px; border-bottom-width: 0px; border-left-width: 0px; padding-top: 0px" title="IMG_20130629_191947_540" border="0" alt="IMG_20130629_191947_540" src="http://lh3.ggpht.com/-7FcpVo-FI_0/UfMcIfWOM7I/AAAAAAAAI3U/dJCHePQNkRA/IMG_20130629_191947_540_thumb%25255B5%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="475" height="353" /></a></p> <p>York was the last place my husband lived before his family moved to Oregon. We stayed three days at a cozy little cottage in York Beach. Spent our time there site seeing, visiting museums, some antique shops and eating lobster.</p> <p><a href="http://lh5.ggpht.com/-7yjA3qdFRqg/UfMcIyk6BvI/AAAAAAAAI3c/0xp3Bcuzra8/s1600-h/IMG_20130630_173701_487%25255B4%25255D.jpg"><img style="background-image: none; border-right-width: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: inline; border-top-width: 0px; border-bottom-width: 0px; border-left-width: 0px; padding-top: 0px" title="IMG_20130630_173701_487" border="0" alt="IMG_20130630_173701_487" src="http://lh4.ggpht.com/-Wi5pbxlcxQE/UfMcJfqPYAI/AAAAAAAAI3g/59t4NpolMHc/IMG_20130630_173701_487_thumb%25255B1%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="481" height="280" /></a></p> <p><a href="http://lh3.ggpht.com/-ixLEvWxumJs/UfMcJ-ys9PI/AAAAAAAAI3s/WsALAGl6fNM/s1600-h/IMG_20130630_171348_836%25255B4%25255D.jpg"><img style="background-image: none; border-right-width: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: inline; border-top-width: 0px; border-bottom-width: 0px; border-left-width: 0px; padding-top: 0px" title="IMG_20130630_171348_836" border="0" alt="IMG_20130630_171348_836" src="http://lh4.ggpht.com/-CNiewXGO9-Q/UfMcKXQ3KpI/AAAAAAAAI30/jVW8eXNtU34/IMG_20130630_171348_836_thumb%25255B1%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="498" height="290" /></a></p> <p><a href="http://lh3.ggpht.com/-BZG-V2HKyig/UfMcKpKpqFI/AAAAAAAAI38/dLqTZXJO_O0/s1600-h/IMG_20130702_121739_530%25255B4%25255D.jpg"><img style="background-image: none; border-right-width: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: inline; border-top-width: 0px; border-bottom-width: 0px; border-left-width: 0px; padding-top: 0px" title="IMG_20130702_121739_530" border="0" alt="IMG_20130702_121739_530" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiRsnx4YbgCugXPjjexAx6AscmXljaUQstq6_h5m_6CupRzUbAV1V8904lyIK-RQk6sGUojcT6KmebyxU8wTtrQic3CH23fyvtLpPz8ydxWEke9s4P0pD2Ui7JpLLGoEMbOPUXocpYN26j8/?imgmax=800" width="510" height="297" /></a></p> <p><a href="http://lh4.ggpht.com/-s4V1AC2teTU/UfMcMLx4ORI/AAAAAAAAI4M/-E5PqUmCFYw/s1600-h/IMG_20130701_133725_853%25255B7%25255D.jpg"><img style="background-image: none; border-right-width: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: inline; border-top-width: 0px; border-bottom-width: 0px; border-left-width: 0px; padding-top: 0px" title="IMG_20130701_133725_853" border="0" alt="IMG_20130701_133725_853" src="http://lh5.ggpht.com/-TtaF9wBJlkc/UfMcMcxwuVI/AAAAAAAAI4U/Lkhh7lK_uKA/IMG_20130701_133725_853_thumb%25255B10%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="352" height="342" /></a></p> <p>We then ventured further North a bit, visiting Kennebunkport and stayed our last night in Old Orchard Beach at the Ocean House Hotel.</p> <p><a href="http://lh3.ggpht.com/-kpHvWkZeNEY/UfMcM0tgK4I/AAAAAAAAI4c/vF7bQ2o6s9w/s1600-h/IMAG0951-1%25255B4%25255D.jpg"><img style="background-image: none; border-right-width: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: inline; border-top-width: 0px; border-bottom-width: 0px; border-left-width: 0px; padding-top: 0px" title="IMAG0951-1" border="0" alt="IMAG0951-1" src="http://lh3.ggpht.com/-ip-NZmuJ8Wo/UfMcNG0nk3I/AAAAAAAAI4k/SoJlcJ3M4gs/IMAG0951-1_thumb%25255B5%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="754" height="366" /></a></p> <p>We didn’t have a reservation, just took a chance and was so pleased with this old hotel. No frills, but great beach access. This was the view from our window.</p> <p><a href="http://lh6.ggpht.com/-IvpTMNKjfKU/UfMcN3LDxyI/AAAAAAAAI4s/ObpDSO5eRcQ/s1600-h/IMAG0950%25255B5%25255D.jpg"><img style="background-image: none; border-right-width: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: inline; border-top-width: 0px; border-bottom-width: 0px; border-left-width: 0px; padding-top: 0px" title="IMAG0950" border="0" alt="IMAG0950" src="http://lh5.ggpht.com/-ooaR012tUNg/UfMcOHe9MqI/AAAAAAAAI40/dfeDnsLh1NA/IMAG0950_thumb%25255B5%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="317" height="463" /></a></p> <p>This charming place had not one, but two screened porches and all kinds of cool places to lounge around.</p> <p><a href="http://lh4.ggpht.com/-qKusyohXuWY/UfMcOlWyLfI/AAAAAAAAI48/Sl855-qZHuM/s1600-h/IMAG0956%25255B4%25255D.jpg"><img style="background-image: none; border-right-width: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: inline; border-top-width: 0px; border-bottom-width: 0px; border-left-width: 0px; padding-top: 0px" title="IMAG0956" border="0" alt="IMAG0956" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgE5JZB_EWyQMPTRBEx2roMoFNAv1LHMb8UB-uUf8Gg8a0lvAOwZknnGR1D3a-NdFhihtFBODjh6yug6P12i-5txWB_lCmw6uCP7AttJDN0y2oHJGewyMosCaCKIG3bclXc9bqEJoY2AJt1/?imgmax=800" width="313" height="528" /></a></p> <p>Loved this spot. Oh, and don’t even get me started on the gorgeous artwork. Okay, here is just a sampling.</p> <p><a href="http://lh6.ggpht.com/-JRwvt-uCJeo/UfMcPSzBt9I/AAAAAAAAI5M/597irxuvaaw/s1600-h/IMAG0963-1%25255B3%25255D.jpg"><img style="background-image: none; border-right-width: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: inline; border-top-width: 0px; border-bottom-width: 0px; border-left-width: 0px; padding-top: 0px" title="IMAG0963-1" border="0" alt="IMAG0963-1" src="http://lh5.ggpht.com/-GWfcqzOy3e4/UfMcP7IiNaI/AAAAAAAAI5U/wIWT0UeH2Pg/IMAG0963-1_thumb%25255B1%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="566" height="346" /></a></p> <p><a href="http://lh4.ggpht.com/-zJ4xvId09hI/UfMcQREXxmI/AAAAAAAAI5c/ODkJWr-mYkQ/s1600-h/IMAG0964-1%25255B3%25255D.jpg"><img style="background-image: none; border-right-width: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: inline; border-top-width: 0px; border-bottom-width: 0px; border-left-width: 0px; padding-top: 0px" title="IMAG0964-1" border="0" alt="IMAG0964-1" src="http://lh5.ggpht.com/-tvErDbPL-Ew/UfMcQ96GbEI/AAAAAAAAI5k/9O9oXtSnA6I/IMAG0964-1_thumb%25255B1%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="304" height="516" /></a></p> <p>These were hand painted tapestries. So wish I could have brought one or all of them home.</p> <p>We ended our trip in Salem, MA. Took a trolley tour and visited a witch museum. </p> <p><a href="http://lh5.ggpht.com/-imARdkqQECs/UfMcRsSj-wI/AAAAAAAAI5s/Smz6aaKUnD0/s1600-h/IMG_20130704_121644_302%25255B4%25255D.jpg"><img style="background-image: none; border-right-width: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: inline; border-top-width: 0px; border-bottom-width: 0px; border-left-width: 0px; padding-top: 0px" title="IMG_20130704_121644_302" border="0" alt="IMG_20130704_121644_302" src="http://lh6.ggpht.com/-a6NJ0MrJbR4/UfMcRzWD3YI/AAAAAAAAI50/TzAT791LbSE/IMG_20130704_121644_302_thumb%25255B1%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="521" height="303" /></a></p> <p>Our son came home from Europe the day after we did and had some great stories to share. He visited Rome, Florence, Normandy, Paris, Versaille and London.</p> <p><a href="http://lh5.ggpht.com/-AYq3SudmjsI/UfMcSRfsbSI/AAAAAAAAI58/bNyB-LBZZzo/s1600-h/Pisa%25255B4%25255D.jpg"><img style="background-image: none; border-right-width: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: inline; border-top-width: 0px; border-bottom-width: 0px; border-left-width: 0px; padding-top: 0px" title="Pisa" border="0" alt="Pisa" src="http://lh6.ggpht.com/-W5ItGp0WVDY/UfMcS1gj1xI/AAAAAAAAI6A/7YdiR1DWhzo/Pisa_thumb%25255B1%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="312" height="422" /></a></p> <p>Before our trip, we headed over to Central Oregon to celebrate my in-laws 50th Wedding Anniversary. It was a lovely party.</p> <p>This summer, I also celebrated with friends, our 30th High School Class Reunion. This was so much fun seeing people I haven’t seen in a really long time.</p> <p><a href="http://lh6.ggpht.com/-XAXXAWYUTEg/UfMcTeGRouI/AAAAAAAAI6M/6ISM9age5RQ/s1600-h/IMG_20130720_201937_253%25255B4%25255D.jpg"><img style="background-image: none; border-right-width: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: inline; border-top-width: 0px; border-bottom-width: 0px; border-left-width: 0px; padding-top: 0px" title="IMG_20130720_201937_253" border="0" alt="IMG_20130720_201937_253" src="http://lh4.ggpht.com/-rUXTGf8W82g/UfMcTx7hrhI/AAAAAAAAI6U/ZbRX2zYuPDg/IMG_20130720_201937_253_thumb%25255B1%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="418" height="244" /></a></p> <p><a href="http://lh5.ggpht.com/-886mpIcL35c/UfMcUY5wxvI/AAAAAAAAI6c/LuST0z5eWPI/s1600-h/IMG_20130721_080606%25255B3%25255D.jpg"><img style="background-image: none; border-right-width: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: inline; border-top-width: 0px; border-bottom-width: 0px; border-left-width: 0px; padding-top: 0px" title="IMG_20130721_080606" border="0" alt="IMG_20130721_080606" src="http://lh6.ggpht.com/-WOl1hwl-15E/UfMcUmIk-tI/AAAAAAAAI6k/TkGJOQD1F2g/IMG_20130721_080606_thumb%25255B1%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="426" height="433" /></a></p> <p><a href="http://lh6.ggpht.com/-tn_EW25QD7U/UfMcVXYxBCI/AAAAAAAAI6s/shN5sxFb16M/s1600-h/IMAG1034%25255B4%25255D.jpg"><img style="background-image: none; border-right-width: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: inline; border-top-width: 0px; border-bottom-width: 0px; border-left-width: 0px; padding-top: 0px" title="IMAG1034" border="0" alt="IMAG1034" src="http://lh4.ggpht.com/-UazjCraKkJ8/UfMcVzWRPBI/AAAAAAAAI60/EI68mE3Kt6M/IMAG1034_thumb%25255B1%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="499" height="309" /></a></p> <p>I didn’t get as many pictures as I hoped, but we sure had a great time. I even got to go to the Bohemia Mining Days Parade which brought back so many fond memories.</p> <p>On our way back from the reunion, we stopped in Eugene to pick up our girl who had some time to come home for a visit. She brought with her these two guys who are visiting from England.</p> <p><a href="http://lh4.ggpht.com/-tMONgKcUyEk/UfMcWroWg_I/AAAAAAAAI68/iPot6e-Qo4o/s1600-h/IMG_20130723_141834%25255B3%25255D.jpg"><img style="background-image: none; border-right-width: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: inline; border-top-width: 0px; border-bottom-width: 0px; border-left-width: 0px; padding-top: 0px" title="IMG_20130723_141834" border="0" alt="IMG_20130723_141834" src="http://lh4.ggpht.com/-zpNhzJ_XpRI/UfMcXKAQ1dI/AAAAAAAAI7E/yDgijqGn0_Y/IMG_20130723_141834_thumb%25255B1%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="444" height="451" /></a></p> <p>I just fell in love with Stefan and Chase. They were so charming and clever and I could just listen to them talk all day long. Those English accents are awesome!</p> <p>And finally, after wanting one for several years now, we finally got a vintage camper trailer.</p> <p><a href="http://lh3.ggpht.com/--flIoY_ukAw/UfMcX3lYrTI/AAAAAAAAI7M/g3mn9s8wC5A/s1600-h/FB_IMG_13745946554499823%25255B4%25255D.jpg"><img style="background-image: none; border-right-width: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: inline; border-top-width: 0px; border-bottom-width: 0px; border-left-width: 0px; padding-top: 0px" title="FB_IMG_13745946554499823" border="0" alt="FB_IMG_13745946554499823" src="http://lh5.ggpht.com/--swjojMueXI/UfMcYT_cI9I/AAAAAAAAI7U/vljFIFk6AKQ/FB_IMG_13745946554499823_thumb%25255B1%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="559" height="430" /></a></p> <p>It’s such a nice size and super vintage 1973, but I think I can work with it. Unfortunately I won’t be able to glam it up, but will be going with a more rustic cabin theme inside. It will after all, be used by my husband for hunting and I know he is not up for a shabby chic makeover.</p> <p>So, now we are caught up. I really need to get busy working my booths. They have been a bit neglected, but I have found some great things so far this summer. Next post will be booth updates. So, as you can imagine, I’ve been busy getting my goods ready and together. This week Mitzi and I set up our space and I have to say, I’m really happy with this first time collaboration.</p> <p>We both went to vendor night last night to put the finishing touches on and I was so excited to see how all other vendors booths have come together. So much good stuff in one place is almost too much for me to take. There were so many things I wanted to bring home and I’m sure, if you are in the area, you will want to bring many things home to. I did manage to snap a few pictures of our space.</p> <p><a href="http://lh5.ggpht.com/-ZuqFL7j5zFM/UWbqsXvZFnI/AAAAAAAAI0Q/EnbVAzAQSgg/s1600-h/spring%252520show%2525206%25255B8%25255D.jpg"><img style="background-image: none; border-right-width: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: block; float: none; border-top-width: 0px; border-bottom-width: 0px; margin-left: auto; border-left-width: 0px; margin-right: auto; padding-top: 0px" title="spring show 6" border="0" alt="spring show 6" src="http://lh4.ggpht.com/-yZEhk5nymfY/UWbqsn9X0mI/AAAAAAAAI0Y/5McrOpzNfpc/spring%252520show%2525206_thumb%25255B6%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="303" height="515" /></a></p> <p><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjl6VhojjctD0W6DCGRUFGgrdbAE7_uuIX8DuOfqCJdMZ4_nsyeEiZr5lUCZxPhPIDUCY0hjqgcphUN5NDv6NJNkmizAnke5OYTs2KnuckDEDSOJ3OfG4KOrfGdIdf07-6CygoRRO88ek0p/s1600-h/spring%252520show%2525205%25255B3%25255D.jpg"><img style="background-image: none; border-right-width: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: inline; border-top-width: 0px; border-bottom-width: 0px; border-left-width: 0px; padding-top: 0px" title="spring show 5" border="0" alt="spring show 5" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh0b2FJMw-B8one2_V7fYWU6jE5kO0CipLuT72pMVIvKaS6h3JYWvpHm8Csj0aaLXgbieBfguyNns8EAe8PU-9G9Lo44Mn2zK9RqBaHBYqVMXdgwdLfB2UhkpVzxTcgNtcqDJ5ymPM9Algi/?imgmax=800" width="353" height="595" /></a></p> <p><a href="http://lh3.ggpht.com/-mqYE1sxZy9I/UWbquAqI1MI/AAAAAAAAI0w/MxORNFpz8-Y/s1600-h/spring%252520show%2525204%25255B3%25255D.jpg"><img style="background-image: none; border-right-width: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: block; float: none; border-top-width: 0px; border-bottom-width: 0px; margin-left: auto; border-left-width: 0px; margin-right: auto; padding-top: 0px" title="spring show 4" border="0" alt="spring show 4" src="http://lh5.ggpht.com/-lHNUsLE32Mc/UWbquf4xZCI/AAAAAAAAI04/8J6Yt8mwzHc/spring%252520show%2525204_thumb%25255B1%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="298" height="502" /></a></p> <p><a href="http://lh4.ggpht.com/-BHSVxs5ETH8/UWbquxMeuXI/AAAAAAAAI1A/joEDqEhQM04/s1600-h/spring%252520show%2525203%25255B3%25255D.jpg"><img style="background-image: none; border-right-width: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: inline; border-top-width: 0px; border-bottom-width: 0px; border-left-width: 0px; padding-top: 0px" title="spring show 3" border="0" alt="spring show 3" src="http://lh3.ggpht.com/-pg2I__a9WuA/UWbqvU0_h6I/AAAAAAAAI1I/j5ZBUDvY3Zo/spring%252520show%2525203_thumb%25255B1%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="383" height="647" /></a></p> <p><a href="http://lh5.ggpht.com/-6CLVIjhrHY8/UWbqv_rrhDI/AAAAAAAAI1Q/4NfSo3m6_3g/s1600-h/spring%252520show%2525202%25255B3%25255D.jpg"><img style="background-image: none; border-right-width: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: block; float: none; border-top-width: 0px; border-bottom-width: 0px; margin-left: auto; border-left-width: 0px; margin-right: auto; padding-top: 0px" title="spring show 2" border="0" alt="spring show 2" src="http://lh6.ggpht.com/-XbK0QUuXNd8/UWbqwGmTXKI/AAAAAAAAI1Y/usbtZaCJdsM/spring%252520show%2525202_thumb%25255B1%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="315" height="531" /></a></p> <p><a href="http://lh5.ggpht.com/-jSEFgymym14/UWbqws0MkQI/AAAAAAAAI1g/yK_TKvl97BM/s1600-h/spring%252520show%2525207%25255B4%25255D.jpg"><img style="background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: inline; border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px" title="spring show 7" border="0" alt="spring show 7" src="http://lh5.ggpht.com/-Bn2dnkOjiVM/UWbqw4h303I/AAAAAAAAI1o/jKdH1Jg3hUI/spring%252520show%2525207_thumb%25255B2%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="688" height="429" /></a></p> <p>It’s kind of hard to  see it in these pictures, but my work bench (the biggest thing I brought) is in there too. February flew by. So much going on and no time to blog. I have been on a trip down south (Southern California) and a trip to the Oregon Coast and during and in between there is always shopping.</p> <p>I made a big decision at the end of last year to take some time off from doing shows. After five years of doing the fabulous Farm Chicks in Spokane, WA, I decided it was time for a break. I love doing shows, getting to sell my goods and meet fabulous people, but as I’ve said before, it is a lot of work. That said, I have really been focusing my efforts on my booths and it has been paying off. My sales have been great and life is good.</p> <p>If you’ve been following my Facebook page you have seen a bit of what I’ve been finding out there. Here are some things I have found just in the last couple weeks.</p> <p><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEienTALVLwTlujjomUT36o8IzjozQVnxGmHNvRYRKUlwyBj29njH0y5msVzFlDSr-dlTDBiSpcFvLIV9UaRh4YVeKLK5J8LNiuT0HjW2OU4jRZBBYKJQYwi04d1yZs-LnpZxZbUo0j2_l4K/s1600-h/white%252520vanity%25255B4%25255D.jpg"><img style="background-image: none; border-right-width: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: inline; border-top-width: 0px; border-bottom-width: 0px; border-left-width: 0px; padding-top: 0px" title="white vanity" border="0" alt="white vanity" src="http://lh6.ggpht.com/-2ENzSVeLol8/UTtYMWctMGI/AAAAAAAAIxs/kr6nzI2r7aU/white%252520vanity_thumb%25255B1%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="563" height="349" /></a></p> <p>This cutie just needed some sanding and new glass knobs and will be off to Stars this weekend.</p> <p><a href="http://lh3.ggpht.com/--_Fj3Qlcc8U/UTtYNdheojI/AAAAAAAAIx0/ej6_CFqaRu0/s1600-h/2%252520little%252520dressers%25255B4%25255D.jpg"><img style="background-image: none; border-right-width: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: inline; border-top-width: 0px; border-bottom-width: 0px; border-left-width: 0px; padding-top: 0px" title="2 little dressers" border="0" alt="2 little dressers" src="http://lh5.ggpht.com/-tlezo9-UDy0/UTtYOOWl0wI/AAAAAAAAIx8/k2Dcuskoa8o/2%252520little%252520dressers_thumb%25255B6%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="442" height="441" /></a></p> <p>Two little dirty white dressers. The back has a neat old Meier & Frank label on it so I don’t want to take it apart. I love it now matter what.</p> <p>So, there you have it. Just some of the things I have been finding lately. There’s more, but some have escaped my camera and have gone directly to my booths.</p> <p>At the beginning of this post I mentioned my decision to take a break from doing shows. Well, I have some exciting news. I have been asked, along with my good friend Mitzi, to do a space at the Monticello Spring Home and Garden show which starts in April and runs all through May! I am super excited to be collaborating with Mitzi. She always has great style and finds the best stuff. As we get closer, I’ll be giving updates and posting some sneak peeks. Having collected vintage wallpaper over that last several years, I always like to find new uses for it. There is just something about it that adds a little something special to a crafty project. If you’ve been with me awhile here, on my blog, you may remember <a href="http://athingforroses.blogspot.com/2010/04/getting-my-crafty-on.html">this post</a> where I made some cute tags out of vintage wallpaper. I have covered clipboards, cabinet panels, lined sewing drawers, covered vintage jewelry boxes, and much more, but one of my favorite projects has to be this one.<br />
<a href="http://lh5.ggpht.com/-fxNUG1lZioc/UQLYI8lzbNI/AAAAAAAAIwo/TmT5A3Va_6o/s1600-h/folding_screen%25255B8%25255D.jpg"><img alt="folding_screen" border="0" height="517" src="http://lh4.ggpht.com/-LP0m7WT0ltI/UQLYJs-PSXI/AAAAAAAAIww/fcMAsuMh_zs/folding_screen_thumb%25255B4%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" style="background-image: none; border-bottom-width: 0px; border-left-width: 0px; border-right-width: 0px; border-top-width: 0px; display: inline; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px;" title="folding_screen" width="378" /></a><br />
A few years ago, I bought a plain and boring folding screen on Craigslist for next to nothing and covered it with a patchwork of vintage wallpaper, primarily wallpaper with roses, of course. This cutie has long gone to a new home where I hope the owner is enjoying it.<br />
Recently I found a not so cute, vintage suitcase and decided it needed a little help. So, I dug into my stash and came up with this.<br />
<a href="http://lh4.ggpht.com/-FarnHQpU78Y/UQLYKJzlOfI/AAAAAAAAIw4/iZYsfDz7Dn8/s1600-h/wallpaper%252520suitcase%25255B5%25255D.jpg"><img alt="wallpaper suitcase" border="0" height="364" src="http://lh6.ggpht.com/-4c0z_kj-jRQ/UQLYKiC1cTI/AAAAAAAAIxA/vc31rah7SLw/wallpaper%252520suitcase_thumb%25255B6%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" style="background-image: none; border-bottom-width: 0px; border-left-width: 0px; border-right-width: 0px; border-top-width: 0px; display: inline; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px;" title="wallpaper suitcase" width="450" /></a><br />
I did both sides. This one is a keeper as I’m going to use it to store old photos/negatives.<br />
I was so happy with how this project turned out, I just kept on going. I had this plain two small drawers, over two bigger drawers dresser that I had picked up at the thrift store. I didn’t want to do my usual shabby chic paint treatment on it so I just decided on a distressed finish on the body and a patchwork of wallpaper on the drawer fronts. Changed the knobs to some cute glass ones and voila! Instant cute! Okay, maybe not so instant, but it really didn’t take me very long at all. <br />
<a href="http://lh5.ggpht.com/-nduQtxSuvfI/UQLYLoygdEI/AAAAAAAAIxI/-h2yE4N_F1g/s1600-h/wallpaper%252520dresser%25255B5%25255D.jpg"><img alt="wallpaper dresser" border="0" height="504" src="http://lh3.ggpht.com/-Q3uJ07xa-_U/UQLYMXXffxI/AAAAAAAAIxQ/69BhvqoOEXo/wallpaper%252520dresser_thumb%25255B8%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" style="background-image: none; border-bottom-width: 0px; border-left-width: 0px; border-right-width: 0px; border-top-width: 0px; display: inline; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px;" title="wallpaper dresser" width="532" /></a><br />
Here it is fitting in nicely in my Monticello booth. In case you’re wondering, I used plain old wallpaper paste that you get at Home Depot to adhere the pieces to the drawer front. To make it a little more durable, I applied a coat of matte Modge Podge to the top and that was it. I didn’t spend a lot of time planning where each piece would go, just kind of put them together so they overlapped a bit. <br />
So, other than playing with paper, I have just been doing the usual trying to keep my booths stocked, going to exercise classes, (I’m loving the Barre Fusion class I’m taking at the local yoga studio) and hanging with my family. Haven’t been finding any really amazing things out there. I think it’s harder to find stuff this time of year, so I continue to purge my collections at home to keep my booths well stocked. I have some plans to make some things too. Oh, and I also have a fun trip coming up next month that I’m really excited about.<br />
Since I haven’t said it here yet, Happy New Year! I know I’m a bit late, but better late than never. Her take on French life, photos and stories just fascinate me. I have been living vicariously through her on her Brocante (French flea market) adventures and periodically check her online store to see if there is anything I simply can’t live without.</p> <p>So, when a few weeks ago I spotted a sweet little French basket she found at the Brocante, I just knew that I had to have it. </p> <p><a href="http://lh5.ggpht.com/-Usa8W_RLj9c/UMjNvgy-yZI/AAAAAAAAIvE/mAkuZYDdP5k/s1600-h/french%252520basket%25255B3%25255D.jpg"><img style="background-image: none; border-right-width: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: block; float: none; border-top-width: 0px; border-bottom-width: 0px; margin-left: auto; border-left-width: 0px; margin-right: auto; padding-top: 0px" title="french basket" border="0" alt="french basket" src="http://lh6.ggpht.com/-kWXgGyKhbxo/UMjNv1d2lWI/AAAAAAAAIvM/JLxUOZliVzI/french%252520basket_thumb%25255B1%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="427" height="434" /></a></p> <p>I loved it’s simplicity, but what really sold me on it was this.</p> <p><a href="http://lh6.ggpht.com/-NFPIFXdCkrA/UMjNwvq_DjI/AAAAAAAAIvU/ThjV4Ui0QAE/s1600-h/french%252520basket%252520lining%25255B3%25255D.jpg"><img style="background-image: none; border-right-width: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: block; float: none; border-top-width: 0px; border-bottom-width: 0px; margin-left: auto; border-left-width: 0px; margin-right: auto; padding-top: 0px" title="french basket lining" border="0" alt="french basket lining" src="http://lh3.ggpht.com/-cy11qCg4L98/UMjNxcIN5aI/AAAAAAAAIvc/K1QZOe8uwAc/french%252520basket%252520lining_thumb%25255B1%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="436" height="443" /></a></p> <p>it was lined with the most lovely French roses ticking fabric.</p> <p>When I received it in the mail yesterday, I was so tickled to have this sweet little item from France. I quickly remembered some vintage millinery flowers that I have been saving for just the right thing. </p> <p><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgEOOmXbtOuhDILrwn10TVixWExK0YEmBJiJfJMzjk7mVFxWcJqM4VgQaIcuY6dENg1zyJxrGg66YE4haIi8fMd4C371y_igF_ofnrTFiYnA4TuiaM-Q_OWmaP0MAiB5gywcF2gFb518HCY/s1600-h/french%252520basket%252520with%252520flowers%25255B3%25255D.jpg"><img style="background-image: none; border-right-width: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: block; float: none; border-top-width: 0px; border-bottom-width: 0px; margin-left: auto; border-left-width: 0px; margin-right: auto; padding-top: 0px" title="french basket with flowers" border="0" alt="french basket with flowers" src="http://lh6.ggpht.com/-WMDQbssJ0FQ/UMjNy_D6PdI/AAAAAAAAIvs/oIlaYB4d8t4/french%252520basket%252520with%252520flowers_thumb%25255B1%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="543" height="552" /></a></p> <p>And voila! Not sure anyone is still checking my blog as it has been so neglected lately. I have been periodically posting on my A Thing for Roses Facebook page, so if you haven’t already, and want to, go on over and like me.</p> <p>We had a couple weeks of really rainy weather up here in the PNW. I don’t do much when that happens, with maybe the exception of catching up on all my tv shows and movies I’ve wanted to watch. I have done a little crafting.</p> <p>Inspired by my good friend Mitzi, who made the most adorable vintage bling Christmas trees (two of which I had to buy, aren’t they so cute?)</p> <p><a href="http://lh6.ggpht.com/-wuFCGolyK8M/ULPSNwM7kMI/AAAAAAAAIts/b61h7VpB3Os/s1600-h/bling%252520trees%25255B11%25255D.jpg"><img style="background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: inline; border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px" title="bling trees" border="0" alt="bling trees" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgOswQJbrqVzi_ZfIugCMP76yu_0eMoJQE-azyNnnSNoM3kojNXeH8I4qjAbbMyZs4toMrk9p0yn48ck5XVJXmyhcdZIyS0q9hy1UuYN-fr6CzHqhHSeQvbwCrq1IsodvRvzocdE-UBwNho/?imgmax=800" width="459" height="420" /></a></p> <p>here are a couple I made.</p> <p><a href="http://lh6.ggpht.com/-bBq_ZXlivEw/ULPSP2abD4I/AAAAAAAAIt8/rMnzrAdn7Ec/s1600-h/001%25255B6%25255D.jpg"><img style="background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: inline; border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px" title="001" border="0" alt="001" src="http://lh5.ggpht.com/-xnbWdWbr3WI/ULPSQtxHQFI/AAAAAAAAIuE/J1fxvHUYxHw/001_thumb%25255B3%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="536" height="412" /></a></p> <p>Also, after making several (I lost count how many) vintage bling button bracelets to sell, I finally made one to keep for me.</p> <p><a href="http://lh3.ggpht.com/-a8v4DPuqX-E/ULPSRQaK6UI/AAAAAAAAIuM/EKg0AhjKrjg/s1600-h/my%252520button%252520bracelet%25255B3%25255D.jpg"><img style="background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: inline; border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px" title="my button bracelet" border="0" alt="my button bracelet" src="http://lh5.ggpht.com/-zAjtWu2TEsk/ULPSRwjeMkI/AAAAAAAAIuU/ySYVbFV6SoM/my%252520button%252520bracelet_thumb%25255B1%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="514" height="522" /></a></p> <p>I used all my favorite buttons. Love that it is super blingy and am looking forward to wearing it during the holidays.</p> <p>I also spent a little time putting together some new/vintage earrings. Love this super simple craft.</p> <p><a href="http://lh4.ggpht.com/-ONU542zeJGU/ULPSSnUWM3I/AAAAAAAAIuc/ulHilWQFaTM/s1600-h/005%25255B5%25255D.jpg"><img style="background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: inline; border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px" title="005" border="0" alt="005" src="http://lh3.ggpht.com/-ZwOkati0PcI/ULPSTtQRQ2I/AAAAAAAAIuk/59XXuO761h8/005_thumb%25255B5%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="574" height="457" /></a></p> <p>We had a lovely Thanksgiving with my girl home from college and I haven’t even begun to think much about decorating for Christmas yet, but I just couldn’t resist bringing this little cutie home from my last visit to Monticello.</p> <p><a href="http://lh5.ggpht.com/-lzPc5RO1UPo/ULPSUGTdxJI/AAAAAAAAIus/colg_rCKm-8/s1600-h/004%25255B6%25255D.jpg"><img style="background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: inline; border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px" title="004" border="0" alt="004" src="http://lh4.ggpht.com/-XNbsFBd9EGs/ULPSU_bJ9YI/AAAAAAAAIu0/k5tmIAPIFF0/004_thumb%25255B3%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="351" height="479" /></a></p> <p>So that’s about it. Heading over to Monticello tomorrow to help Mitzi move into the front window and fluff my space a bit. I’m super excited to see what she comes up with. </p> Lisa Johnsonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09945412883411503173noreply@blogger.com8tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4712752442502672144.post-12809246140452105392012-10-22T10:09:00.001-07:002012-10-22T10:09:02.351-07:00Vintage Halloween<p>I had been planning on doing a post about my good friend, Mitzi’s booth at Stars, but Stars beat me to it.</p> <p>A few weeks ago I took some pictures of Mitzi’s booth all decorated in vintage Halloween. It is awesome. Here is one shot I got.</p> <p><a href="http://lh6.ggpht.com/-pRVtt_qTIKk/UIV9qiLWgKI/AAAAAAAAItU/p9H3PGq7Nds/s1600-h/vintage%252520halloween%25255B11%25255D.jpg"><img style="background-image: none; border-right-width: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: inline; border-top-width: 0px; border-bottom-width: 0px; border-left-width: 0px; padding-top: 0px" title="vintage halloween" border="0" alt="vintage halloween" src="http://lh5.ggpht.com/-R_g8S8FWfVI/UIV9rHwbJaI/AAAAAAAAItc/0KW4xbmElPk/vintage%252520halloween_thumb%25255B8%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="605" height="424" /></a></p> <p>To see more of Mitzi’s goodies check out the <a href="http://www.starsantiqueblog.com/2012/10/mitzis-halloween-decor-galore">Stars blog</a>.</p> <p>Mitzi has two great spaces at Stars and is getting ready to bring in her Vintage Christmas goodies soon! And let me tell you, Mitzi is one of the best Vintage Christmas gals I know. She will also be the featured guest vendor in the window at Monticello in December. So excited to see her magic!</p> <p>Not a lot going on with me right now, which is why I haven’t blogged in awhile. Getting used to not having my #1 girl home, although we recently had a very brief visit from her. She seems to be adapting well to college life. A lot better than I am adapting to not having her around.  Will hopefully get back to posting about my vintage junk and projects again soon. Don’t give up on me yet!</p> <p> TTFN!</p> Lisa Johnsonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09945412883411503173noreply@blogger.com7tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4712752442502672144.post-63495458720577415362012-09-11T08:42:00.001-07:002012-09-11T08:42:11.654-07:00What the Blog I’ve Been Up To<p>I think this just may be the longest blogging break I have taken since I started this thing called A Thing for Roses blog. Since the Barn House show, I have been a very busy girl. I have been posting more on Facebook and will probably continue to do so as it is so much simpler than putting together a blog post. So, if you want more frequent updates on my junking shenanigans, you can go to <a href="http://www.facebook.com/athingforroses">www.facebook.com/athingforroses</a> and “like” me. Thanks so much for all the new “likes” I’ve gotten lately. It’s fun to see the numbers grow.</p> <p>Since Barn House was my last show of the year, I’ve been taking it easy and haven’t been working on many projects. Don’t get me wrong, I still have two booths to keep stocked so I have been hunting and gathering some good stuff this summer. Speaking of booths, this is what my Monticello booth is looking like this week.</p> <p><a href="http://lh4.ggpht.com/-1luFNbf9ags/UE9bscI_jHI/AAAAAAAAIqg/CRQTVJbpRp0/s1600-h/Monticello%252520booth%25255B4%25255D.jpg"><img style="background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: inline; border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px" title="Monticello booth" border="0" alt="Monticello booth" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjBzopthXNiLApfCMmeeEVrU2TmZ9UEwyU-WpIIFQ3EmtW07Ykmfceka5VGdlMJggNDMQCgZ9jQ2TaItanYA9pKxAVk_-dkDeKXz4mXTEq8PHkICvCPps4p0UOAHawzsRQ88sRSY9fcBg8l/?imgmax=800" width="630" height="456" /></a></p> <p>I took the big white table out and did a major rearrange in preparation for the Fall Premier Sale which is going on right now. If you haven’t been yet and are nearby, I highly recommend you stop by. Our dealers are amazing and have brought some awesome merchandise. </p> <p>Don’t want to leave my Stars booth out so here’s a peak at it.</p> <p><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhB9VBsC_dx4Y1mwcvQ7cS8qKuIi0X1A-ylyz1kyoRp3mRkD1DThYSf4poA8IErn1VRvcK8XT1v3SFkwwschqv602URuuBwthLNTU7aEQk2xaakB873plZuApdcRJxLd1iZkbjboIaGoC9i/s1600-h/Stars%252520booth%25255B6%25255D.jpg"><img style="background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: inline; border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px" title="Stars booth" border="0" alt="Stars booth" src="http://lh6.ggpht.com/-it8GwFFcaaU/UE9buN_CVnI/AAAAAAAAIq4/QoPzvw8kU6M/Stars%252520booth_thumb%25255B7%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="644" height="400" /></a></p> <p>As you can see, both my booths are very well stocked right now. In fact, I probably have enough stuff in my garage/house to fill another booth, but managing two booths is as much as I can handle right now.</p> <p>In August, the kids and I took a trip to Southern California to visit family. Let me tell you that it was hot. Upper 90’s the whole week. This Oregon gal is not used to those temps, but we had a great time anyway, visiting with family, going to the beach and taking my #1 girl to Soak City for a day of water park fun. My lovely step-sisters even took me to a couple vintage shops I had never been to before.</p> <p>The first one was <a href="http://magnoliaandwillow.com">Magnolia and Willow</a>. I had just seen them on facebook and liked them. They have a great eclectic mix of vintage. I bought a sweet antique petite point purse which I accidentally left in my sister’s car, so I can’t show it just yet. </p> <p>The second place we went was <a href="http://www.OrangeAveEstateSalvageAndGarden.com">Orange Ave. Estate, Salvage and Garden.</a> Now this was a store meant for me. I found so many great things and if I had more time, I would have probably found more. Here is just a sampling.</p> <p><a href="http://lh4.ggpht.com/-x22zTfDRif0/UE9butuiTzI/AAAAAAAAIrA/PG4gSo-_A9A/s1600-h/rose%252520painting%25255B6%25255D.jpg"><img style="background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: inline; border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px" title="rose painting" border="0" alt="rose painting" src="http://lh6.ggpht.com/-tZs5hRwZ9Qw/UE9bvERiKUI/AAAAAAAAIrI/xfIVTs7HVLU/rose%252520painting_thumb%25255B7%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="572" height="438" /></a></p> <p>Lovely roses painting.</p> <p><a href="http://lh6.ggpht.com/-UzFcyaIm_jc/UE9bvXwJjfI/AAAAAAAAIrQ/h0w5KRC8uc4/s1600-h/landscape%252520painting%25255B10%25255D.jpg"><img style="background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: inline; border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px" title="landscape painting" border="0" alt="landscape painting" src="http://lh6.ggpht.com/-MfdYaFsCLGg/UE9bv_Ev_DI/AAAAAAAAIrY/FV57gBdbbPY/landscape%252520painting_thumb%25255B7%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="324" height="546" /></a></p> <p>Beautiful landscape painting. A little blurry, sorry, but the funny thing is that I had this exact print hanging right here and I swapped it out for this painting.</p> <p><a href="http://lh6.ggpht.com/-eRp2tif3Nz4/UE9bwfKtKcI/AAAAAAAAIrg/owBCHn5ABEk/s1600-h/vintage%252520clock%25255B5%25255D.jpg"><img style="background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: inline; border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px" title="vintage clock" border="0" alt="vintage clock" src="http://lh3.ggpht.com/-Zc0ZTTNph40/UE9bxFtf3tI/AAAAAAAAIrs/PWxzXIHAW9I/vintage%252520clock_thumb%25255B9%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="348" height="457" /></a></p> <p>Vintage chippy wall clock and shabby, ornate drawer pulls.</p> <p><a href="http://lh4.ggpht.com/-QaKFMcHO2iU/UE9bxlGSTeI/AAAAAAAAIr0/HqrwqnnaGl0/s1600-h/watch%252520and%252520earrings%25255B7%25255D.jpg"><img style="background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: inline; border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px" title="watch and earrings" border="0" alt="watch and earrings" src="http://lh3.ggpht.com/-3hnyDcLX0a0/UE9bx0ZIL7I/AAAAAAAAIr8/UxGPFRgNZ4s/watch%252520and%252520earrings_thumb%25255B8%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="484" height="437" /></a></p> <p>Great vintage watch and rhinestone earrings. </p> <p>I’m sad to say that I was all geared up to hit the Long Beach Flea Market in search of more goodies, but I just didn’t have it in me. It was simply just too hot. I guess I’m not the bad a** junker I thought I was.</p> <p>Since we’ve been back from our trip, I have been busy getting my girl ready to head off to college and spending every possible minute I can with her. We took a family boat cruise on the Willamette in Portland last weekend.</p> <p><a href="http://lh5.ggpht.com/-mUKp0Dl7ydU/UE9byRIMf3I/AAAAAAAAIsE/0yLROibwKsY/s1600-h/Willamette%252520Falls%25255B4%25255D.jpg"><img style="background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: inline; border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px" title="Willamette Falls" border="0" alt="Willamette Falls" src="http://lh5.ggpht.com/-S05F3PiBgwQ/UE9by4KC9rI/AAAAAAAAIsM/Z0LAopLaN_g/Willamette%252520Falls_thumb%25255B2%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="664" height="416" /></a></p> <p>It was a beautiful and much cooler day out. Snapped this picture of the Willamette Falls.</p> <p>We also went on a hike last week to Triple Falls in the Columbia Gorge.</p> <p><a href="http://lh3.ggpht.com/-vIBts0PjNzk/UE9bzMbPbwI/AAAAAAAAIsU/qhtVupyNCeM/s1600-h/triple%252520falls%25255B5%25255D.jpg"><img style="background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: inline; border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px" title="triple falls" border="0" alt="triple falls" src="http://lh6.ggpht.com/-PfipyZtt_QY/UE9bzvfcCKI/AAAAAAAAIsc/HwOkYN61mWw/triple%252520falls_thumb%25255B6%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="415" height="535" /></a></p> <p>I love how the sun in this picture makes her glow.</p> <p><a href="http://lh4.ggpht.com/--0Ml9VtWnTs/UE9b0EJAwHI/AAAAAAAAIsk/470mEiun5ys/s1600-h/triple%252520falls%2525202%25255B3%25255D.jpg"><img style="background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: inline; border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px" title="triple falls 2" border="0" alt="triple falls 2" src="http://lh3.ggpht.com/-TncRuN19gJE/UE9b0svtLEI/AAAAAAAAIss/aAmWfvw3yu4/triple%252520falls%2525202_thumb%25255B1%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="318" height="536" /></a></p> <p>The hike up to the falls was intense (for out of shape me), but we were rewarded with beautiful scenery and cooling off by wading in the pools at the top of the falls. The hike back down was much easier and in all, it was a great day spending quality time with my favorite girl.</p> <p>Well, I think that brings you up to speed with just a bit of what I’ve been doing. In the next couple weeks we will be taking our first born to college, and I’ll be having a big clean out garage sale with my good friend Mitzi. Speaking of Mitzi, I wish I had taken some pictures of her Stars booth. She has it all decked out in Vintage Halloween. It’s super cool. I guess I know what I’ll be posting next. </p> <p>Have a great day and I’ll hopefully be back here soon!</p> Lisa Johnsonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09945412883411503173noreply@blogger.com10tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4712752442502672144.post-61878567462037059212012-08-06T07:48:00.001-07:002012-08-06T07:48:59.013-07:00Barn House 2012<p>It has been over a week since I came home from the awesome Barn House Vintage Marketplace. Joe and Jermonne sure know how to throw a great party, I mean sale. Everything was perfect. The setting, the weather, the music, the food, the people. And wow, there were a lot of people. The line seemed to go on forever!</p> <p>I only took a few pictures of my booth, but by now you probably have already seen dozens of amazing photos from the other vendors and shoppers who enjoyed the day.</p> <p><a href="http://lh4.ggpht.com/-QfydbN5YFKI/UB_ZPufKA9I/AAAAAAAAIoY/ge_4GW5z2is/s1600-h/Barn%252520House%2525202012%25255B7%25255D.jpg"><img style="background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: block; float: none; margin-left: auto; border-top: 0px; margin-right: auto; border-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px" title="Barn House 2012" border="0" alt="Barn House 2012" src="http://lh6.ggpht.com/-o6xxRCWLW68/UB_ZQLxq5pI/AAAAAAAAIoc/7Bspsu3fpIA/Barn%252520House%2525202012_thumb%25255B3%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="539" height="548" /></a></p> <p>I took these photos with my phone camera, so they are not the best, but you can get a general idea of my goodies. Looking at this picture, it’s fun to see how many things went to new homes.</p> <p><a href="http://lh6.ggpht.com/-q1VxEB6MWo4/UB_ZQlIobmI/AAAAAAAAIok/mwUQYyMNf2Y/s1600-h/barn%252520house%2525202012%25252001%25255B4%25255D.jpg"><img style="background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: block; float: none; margin-left: auto; border-top: 0px; margin-right: auto; border-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px" title="barn house 2012 01" border="0" alt="barn house 2012 01" src="http://lh5.ggpht.com/-NDFsAlRhJsY/UB_ZREnJwsI/AAAAAAAAIow/Yha-DDQnIQo/barn%252520house%2525202012%25252001_thumb%25255B2%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="649" height="667" /></a></p> <p>Here’s an Instagram picture I took of the big pink cabinet and some other goodies. That love sign was one of the first things to sell. It went home with a lovely lady from my hometown!</p> <p><a href="http://lh3.ggpht.com/-gm22yN_Q_7k/UB_ZSEWDQjI/AAAAAAAAIo4/SDoCFpBVNCs/s1600-h/Barn%252520House%2525202012%25252003%25255B4%25255D.jpg"><img style="background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: block; float: none; margin-left: auto; border-top: 0px; margin-right: auto; border-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px" title="Barn House 2012 03" border="0" alt="Barn House 2012 03" src="http://lh5.ggpht.com/-stEUzpqQJlY/UB_ZSac0TlI/AAAAAAAAIpA/hSvo1WQzZUU/Barn%252520House%2525202012%25252003_thumb%25255B1%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="406" height="686" /></a></p> <p><a href="http://lh4.ggpht.com/-ZNsGYWVeXBQ/UB_ZS951uzI/AAAAAAAAIpI/7vSFkfRQDpE/s1600-h/barn%252520house%2525202012%25252004%25255B5%25255D.jpg"><img style="background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: inline; border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px" title="barn house 2012 04" border="0" alt="barn house 2012 04" src="http://lh5.ggpht.com/-Vz--h9i0JH4/UB_ZTfOU35I/AAAAAAAAIpQ/Wm8hGs8Y1gw/barn%252520house%2525202012%25252004_thumb%25255B3%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="679" height="420" /></a></p> <p><a href="http://lh6.ggpht.com/-fq-u2RXEF6g/UB_ZT0ezXkI/AAAAAAAAIpY/BCHc1DEmIqI/s1600-h/barn%252520house%2525202012%25252005%25255B3%25255D.jpg"><img style="background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: block; float: none; margin-left: auto; border-top: 0px; margin-right: auto; border-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px" title="barn house 2012 05" border="0" alt="barn house 2012 05" src="http://lh4.ggpht.com/-Q9pbna33cTY/UB_ZUeSvOfI/AAAAAAAAIpg/3NDX_vbBNuQ/barn%252520house%2525202012%25252005_thumb%25255B1%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="379" height="530" /></a></p> <p><a href="http://lh3.ggpht.com/-6iXAcK5NUTo/UB_ZVGtn7zI/AAAAAAAAIpo/018rZfVPNig/s1600-h/barn%252520house%2525202012%25252006%25255B3%25255D.jpg"><img style="background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: block; float: none; margin-left: auto; border-top: 0px; margin-right: auto; border-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px" title="barn house 2012 06" border="0" alt="barn house 2012 06" src="http://lh5.ggpht.com/-XWj24MVoJ3Y/UB_ZVngn6TI/AAAAAAAAIpw/PQ1gHJbgOWA/barn%252520house%2525202012%25252006_thumb%25255B1%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="365" height="510" /></a></p> <p>And finally, here I am.</p> <p><a href="http://lh3.ggpht.com/-VhsBkQLmGhQ/UB_ZWAifntI/AAAAAAAAIp4/rFVBeQ4q8FA/s1600-h/barn%252520house%2525202012%25252002%25255B3%25255D.jpg"><img style="background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: block; float: none; margin-left: auto; border-top: 0px; margin-right: auto; border-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px" title="barn house 2012 02" border="0" alt="barn house 2012 02" src="http://lh4.ggpht.com/-zLOuUz0LMgw/UB_ZWfIP4UI/AAAAAAAAIqA/ePzr_PR2UOk/barn%252520house%2525202012%25252002_thumb%25255B1%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="340" height="516" /></a></p> <p>Sweet Florence, from <a href="http://www.essencesofthepast.blogspot.com">Essences of the Past</a>, took this photo of me. I always try to put together a fun/cute outfit when I do a show. This time I wore a french slip, antique pantaloons I bought from Isabel at Farm Chicks, and a vintage apron. What you can’t see are my favorite harness boots. I tried to stick with a neutrals and pink color scheme in my space this year and I’m really happy with how it all turned out.</p> <p>Over the last week, I have been restocking my booths at Monticello and Stars, and basically taking it easy. I even went to a cute little antique show with my Mom and found some great treasures. Now that I’m done with selling at shows for the year, I can enjoy being a shopper! </p> <p>Hope y’all have a great week! Don’t forget to “like” A Thing for Roses on Facebook as I am much better about posting pictures there than on this old blog. ha ha Happy Monday!</p> Lisa Johnsonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09945412883411503173noreply@blogger.com23tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4712752442502672144.post-19065997413319525972012-07-23T15:17:00.001-07:002012-07-23T15:17:59.505-07:00Getting Ready for Barn House<p>As usual, a few weeks before a show, I’m running around like a chicken with my head cut off. Okay, I’m exaggerating a bit, but I have been pretty busy.  Busy getting ready for my final show of the year. <a href="http://www.barnhousebh.com">Barn House Vintage Marketplace</a> which is being held in Battleground, WA in just 5 short days. I only have one picture to share with you today.  A little project that I just finished.</p> <p><a href="http://lh3.ggpht.com/-PJ6xernnjrQ/UA3NlNA9lAI/AAAAAAAAIoE/MxvurrmAoV4/s1600-h/buffet%25255B4%25255D.jpg"><img style="background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: block; float: none; margin-left: auto; border-top: 0px; margin-right: auto; border-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px" title="buffet" border="0" alt="buffet" src="http://lh5.ggpht.com/-P6xv4Lk56NU/UA3NlhkpXeI/AAAAAAAAIoM/RcS8la4tL3g/buffet_thumb%25255B2%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="591" height="457" /></a></p> <p>Here we have a cute smaller buffet which I gave the shabby chic treatment to. I needed something to accommodate the cool big pink cabinet I’ll be bringing and this fits the bill.</p> <p>I’ll also be bringing some dressers, vintage lamps, plenty of vintage bling, pretty nighties and slips, lots of cool vintage mirrors and frames and lots more.</p> <p>I have been posting some sneak peaks on my A Thing for Roses facebook page, so if you want, you can go over there and “like” me. </p> <p>Well, I’d better get back to work. Looking forward to seeing some of you on Saturday!</p> Lisa Johnsonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09945412883411503173noreply@blogger.com13tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4712752442502672144.post-3744533584245059012012-07-02T09:14:00.000-07:002012-07-02T09:14:03.615-07:00For Sale~Vintage Bling BucklesHappy Monday! Been planning for a long time now to get my Etsy store up and running. No excuses, just laziness, I guess. I decided that I'm going to list a few of my vintage bling buckles, but before I do, I thought I would offer them up to any of my blog readers that may be interested. So, here they are.<br />

It was just sitting there waiting for me. Should be an easy fix to put the electrical in. It’s currently hanging from an old bird cage stand in the corner of my living room. My first thought was to remove the crystals and paint it white, but the more I looked at it the more I liked its gold/silver finish. Was thrilled with all the crystals too. Well, now that things are back to normal, I’ve been hitting the junking trail a bit and thought I would show you what I’ve found over the last week.</p> <p><a href="http://lh3.ggpht.com/-4Kuo73AB_VE/T9tQkOhHfCI/AAAAAAAAIjw/YRvYWc04pTo/s1600-h/009%25255B6%25255D.jpg"><img style="background-image: none; border-right-width: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: block; float: none; border-top-width: 0px; border-bottom-width: 0px; margin-left: auto; border-left-width: 0px; margin-right: auto; padding-top: 0px" title="009" border="0" alt="009" src="http://lh5.ggpht.com/-ng3HjWuFNkI/T9tQkgF_QLI/AAAAAAAAIj4/1jMJT7OkNlw/009_thumb%25255B6%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="361" height="523" /></a></p> <p align="center">I found this cool reproduction French style bottle drying rack at the G-dub.</p> <p align="center"><a href="http://lh6.ggpht.com/-c9HF0JzplKg/T9tQlEiqm-I/AAAAAAAAIkA/TQADgwm9Ic0/s1600-h/004%25255B5%25255D.jpg"><img style="background-image: none; border-right-width: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: inline; border-top-width: 0px; border-bottom-width: 0px; border-left-width: 0px; padding-top: 0px" title="004" border="0" alt="004" src="http://lh4.ggpht.com/-UJ4LW3Fiar4/T9tQlojCdWI/AAAAAAAAIkI/ALe_DqnYvWE/004_thumb%25255B5%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="552" height="531" /></a></p> <p align="center">Vintage glass lamps and a pretty shade</p> <p align="center"><a href="http://lh3.ggpht.com/-oiytFxhQfwY/T9tQmbcq6TI/AAAAAAAAIkM/3WipaX4CwZQ/s1600-h/006%25255B5%25255D.jpg"><img style="background-image: none; border-right-width: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: inline; border-top-width: 0px; border-bottom-width: 0px; border-left-width: 0px; padding-top: 0px" title="006" border="0" alt="006" src="http://lh6.ggpht.com/-GFP8LL5uxKw/T9tQm70XK6I/AAAAAAAAIkY/2nv7E0DwrVo/006_thumb%25255B2%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="375" height="507" /></a></p> <p align="center">A bit of bling</p> <p align="center"><a href="http://lh3.ggpht.com/-d-09vj8ozH4/T9tQnMRvAFI/AAAAAAAAIkg/4hQcK1NBY-Y/s1600-h/005%25255B6%25255D.jpg"><img style="background-image: none; border-right-width: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: inline; border-top-width: 0px; border-bottom-width: 0px; border-left-width: 0px; padding-top: 0px" title="005" border="0" alt="005" src="http://lh6.ggpht.com/-ZeAwCuFYuJc/T9tQny1n9UI/AAAAAAAAIko/v_-G50Ag4F4/005_thumb%25255B6%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="340" height="633" /></a></p> <p align="center">Three tier metal and glass stand</p> <p align="center"><a href="http://lh3.ggpht.com/-2NQofN725x0/T9tQocyOujI/AAAAAAAAIks/jhoTo7eAH0M/s1600-h/008%25255B6%25255D.jpg"><img style="background-image: none; border-right-width: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: inline; border-top-width: 0px; border-bottom-width: 0px; border-left-width: 0px; padding-top: 0px" title="008" border="0" alt="008" src="http://lh5.ggpht.com/-Lb3vT_KhGNk/T9tQo-XenDI/AAAAAAAAIk0/ShfzlCp6zJk/008_thumb%25255B3%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="325" height="442" /></a></p> <p>Metal trivets, acrylic box with rhinestones and a cute little vintage frame, also with rhinestones.</p> <p><a href="http://lh6.ggpht.com/-WYo87key0ws/T9tQpZIteOI/AAAAAAAAIk8/DzXjq-4Rw5A/s1600-h/007%25255B4%25255D.jpg"><img style="background-image: none; border-right-width: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: block; float: none; border-top-width: 0px; border-bottom-width: 0px; margin-left: auto; border-left-width: 0px; margin-right: auto; padding-top: 0px" title="007" border="0" alt="007" src="http://lh3.ggpht.com/-2dhEywA-Ki8/T9tQqKMTbII/AAAAAAAAIlI/rCxAkrV5TU8/007_thumb%25255B1%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="550" height="423" /></a></p> <p align="center">Trio of metal paint thingys. It has the best original crackle paint in pink, yellow and green.  All I had to do was give it a light sanding and it’s perfect. Great size for a small dining room, bathroom for towels and such. Even low enough for a tv stand and you could put the electronic components inside. So wish I had a space for this cutie, but I can’t keep it all, right?</p> <p>Today is the first day of summer vacation for both of my kids and the sun is shining. I think we need to go out and play. Have a lovely, hopefully sunny, weekend wherever you may be!</p> Lisa Johnsonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09945412883411503173noreply@blogger.com12tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4712752442502672144.post-71256778686266444472012-06-12T06:49:00.001-07:002012-06-12T06:49:06.699-07:00Farm Chicks 2012<p>Well, my 5th year as a vendor at Farm Chicks has come and gone. This post is a bit overdue, life has been a bit crazy since I returned from Spokane. First, Farm Chicks. It was crazy good. So good in fact that I was too busy to leave my booth which is how I like it. Did I ever mention, I love to sell my cool junk? And that is just what I did. I did manage to snap a few photos of my spaces (yes, I had two), before the show started and after rearranging on Sunday. Here they are.</p> <p><a href="http://lh3.ggpht.com/-0WO82H-6GkQ/T9dIp6LYlxI/AAAAAAAAIg0/Ze5JTDY8Kuo/s1600-h/IMAG0429%25255B5%25255D.jpg"><img style="background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: block; float: none; margin-left: auto; border-top: 0px; margin-right: auto; border-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px" title="IMAG0429" border="0" alt="IMAG0429" src="http://lh6.ggpht.com/-eQ92CC2mVqc/T9dIqqLwTVI/AAAAAAAAIg8/Hnv-x-l1HJo/IMAG0429_thumb%25255B2%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="653" height="409" /></a></p> <p>I apologize for this first picture. Not sure why it’s so blurry. I promise, they get better, but here you can see my original space. I changed things up a bit this year by leaving my tent frame at home, putting down carpet and putting up the umbrella. That umbrella got a lot of attention. I simply draped a vintage chenille spread over it. Easy as pie.</p> <p>There was a last minute cancellation and I was able to get the booth across the isle from me which was awesome as I was able to spread out and felt like people could see my stuff so much better.</p> <p><a href="http://lh3.ggpht.com/-ZphZlt9WDws/T9dIrqW1-yI/AAAAAAAAIhE/zmhetLjXM1s/s1600-h/IMAG0430%25255B6%25255D.jpg"><img style="background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: block; float: none; margin-left: auto; border-top: 0px; margin-right: auto; border-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px" title="IMAG0430" border="0" alt="IMAG0430" src="http://lh5.ggpht.com/-uyfZ_E0aKVU/T9dIrxH2QrI/AAAAAAAAIhM/NaYwzKKsY1I/IMAG0430_thumb%25255B8%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="446" height="494" /></a></p> <p><a href="http://lh4.ggpht.com/-srE_Umdw6BY/T9dIsfzn0NI/AAAAAAAAIhU/V7TTcje28r4/s1600-h/IMAG0433%25255B5%25255D.jpg"><img style="background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: block; float: none; margin-left: auto; border-top: 0px; margin-right: auto; border-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px" title="IMAG0433" border="0" alt="IMAG0433" src="http://lh6.ggpht.com/-2gtATJWK6U0/T9dIsz2nz6I/AAAAAAAAIhc/0w_11WQHnSU/IMAG0433_thumb%25255B7%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="508" height="363" /></a></p> <p>My new neighbors, Amy and Kris from Farm & Frills filled in with some smalls and had the booths next to and across from me. It was fun having my friends so close this year and we had a ton of fun hanging out with them during and after the show.</p> <p><a href="http://lh5.ggpht.com/-yge8nHs7bPY/T9dItfK8xII/AAAAAAAAIhk/3ZbC9QcFcOQ/s1600-h/IMAG0434%25255B5%25255D.jpg"><img style="background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: block; float: none; margin-left: auto; border-top: 0px; margin-right: auto; border-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px" title="IMAG0434" border="0" alt="IMAG0434" src="http://lh3.ggpht.com/-aW6yneoXWQk/T9dIt4ZklTI/AAAAAAAAIhs/RQK9nf_537A/IMAG0434_thumb%25255B5%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="329" height="498" /></a></p> <p><a href="http://lh3.ggpht.com/-buO-QNZVWB0/T9dIuaUupII/AAAAAAAAIh0/Zco0I44REMM/s1600-h/IMAG0436%25255B5%25255D.jpg"><img style="background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: block; float: none; margin-left: auto; border-top: 0px; margin-right: auto; border-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px" title="IMAG0436" border="0" alt="IMAG0436" src="http://lh3.ggpht.com/-NQqMhXkDjJU/T9dIuxAIhgI/AAAAAAAAIh8/qBCUFi9XqQM/IMAG0436_thumb%25255B5%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="389" height="593" /></a></p> <p>Last year I had “Big Pink,” and this year it was “Big Blue.” Not the best picture, but I love this cabinet. I can’t believe I didn’t get a better picture of the rolling bench/cabinet. You can see a peak of it in the back of the above picture. It was super cool, but it didn’t start out that way. It started out as an under bed storage cabinet. I added casters, painted and added a beadboard top to it. It went home with a very happy young lady who will be using it in her entry.</p> <p>So, there you have it. I’m home, daughter graduated from High School, visiting family now gone, both booths restocked in Malls. Time to take a little break, but not for too long as I will soon be getting ready for Barn House, July 28th. Super excited about doing this fun show. Already have some new things I will be saving just for this special sale. I’ll be back to share soon. TTFN!</p> Lisa Johnsonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09945412883411503173noreply@blogger.com15tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4712752442502672144.post-26844703617743995062012-05-28T08:34:00.001-07:002012-05-28T08:34:50.579-07:00Working Hard/Playing Hard~Farm Chicks Sneak Peeks<p>The last two weeks have flown by. I have been super busy as I leave Friday morning at o’dark thirty for Farm Chicks. I have been painting, sanding, sewing, packaging, cleaning and crafting my little fingers off. I also took a little break to hang out with some of my girlfriends from High School which was a hoot. We went dancing in Portland at the Crystal Ballroom, 80’s night. If you are in the Portland area and have never been, add it to your list of things you must do. We had so much fun and the people watching was hilarious. Also took a day off from working to spend some family time at the beach. Squishing your toes in the sand is the best therapy.</p> <p>Anyway, that’s not what you want hear about, right? Thought I would share just a few of the things I’ll be bringing with me to Farm Chicks. If you’re my friend on Facebook, you may have already seen these, but here they are anyway.</p> <p><a href="http://lh4.ggpht.com/-HMrmBE1YX-A/T8ObDVK_Q1I/AAAAAAAAIgA/x0hYaaDLdhw/s1600-h/blue%252520vanity%25255B3%25255D.jpg"><img style="background-image: none; border-right-width: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: block; float: none; border-top-width: 0px; border-bottom-width: 0px; margin-left: auto; border-left-width: 0px; margin-right: auto; padding-top: 0px" title="blue vanity" border="0" alt="blue vanity" src="http://lh5.ggpht.com/-n6VQWuEFS5Q/T8ObD3_SXPI/AAAAAAAAIgI/pgLt4YHrD8E/blue%252520vanity_thumb%25255B1%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="472" height="363" /></a></p> <p>Found this gorgeous vanity/desk at the Value Village. All it needed was a little sanding and cleaning. I love these kind of projects. Original paint is the best!</p> <p><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgna5-rH3D_co7MHBYoGq-iooJ4wyiHQNwzPOkZFMMUp2UiY0n_lj4iqRwb8N2ndKweaEoSOB4T9YGYNRfqubiNYE1_pLCk_6QG8wUV3kLCisQSL5GFZzcKEFgwlk-MGBWQUY22aCXUan4f/s1600-h/FB_IMG_13381737439443427%25255B5%25255D.jpg"><img style="background-image: none; border-right-width: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: block; float: none; border-top-width: 0px; border-bottom-width: 0px; margin-left: auto; border-left-width: 0px; margin-right: auto; padding-top: 0px" title="FB_IMG_13381737439443427" border="0" alt="FB_IMG_13381737439443427" src="http://lh4.ggpht.com/-rJdKPCOVpbI/T8ObEvsy90I/AAAAAAAAIgY/3REXAqpOBJ8/FB_IMG_13381737439443427_thumb%25255B3%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="371" height="501" /></a></p> <p>This is part of the biggest piece of furniture I’ll be bringing. This one I did give a paint makeover. I got it off of craigslist. It had great potential and I love how it turned out. </p> <p>And finally, here are a couple of the shopping carts I’ll be bringing. </p> <p> <a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhmuYyqtaJYdTy4FNra-H7p4KjzAoe_6MLoB7E4Kg-NvWkJkwGn2T5VeXfHQcpJR892dDziMk2wd8vSmWP4FQuRNivY8QjNTZtmT207vBs0JRaDc4P-FV3Kv_HG725KU8gpofbPpYxRDmaU/s1600-h/IMAG0414%25255B11%25255D.jpg"><img style="background-image: none; border-right-width: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: block; float: none; border-top-width: 0px; border-bottom-width: 0px; margin-left: auto; border-left-width: 0px; margin-right: auto; padding-top: 0px" title="IMAG0414" border="0" alt="IMAG0414" src="http://lh5.ggpht.com/-eG9_nhK52E8/T8ObFjEjtxI/AAAAAAAAIgo/AWVHhyBYUms/IMAG0414_thumb%25255B13%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="530" height="439" /></a></p> <p>I’ll try to post more peeks as the week goes on, but it may be a little hard as I’ll be loading up the trailer tomorrow. Yikes! Gotta get busy! Have a lovely Memorial Day!</p> Lisa Johnsonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09945412883411503173noreply@blogger.com9tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4712752442502672144.post-64860694191941409132012-05-14T07:13:00.001-07:002012-05-14T07:13:42.455-07:00Senior Prom in Pictures<p><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgUT_qrsAfU7yrMCIZunVRLzZaVKZrxPhxl1zDzUXr5Q2V6tEbUtRA1q7i23QjCPfr7QQMAflp_Tb5wDZca7-qwJ3pLQkGuXc7KOtAQjEG5jJd6UN7trwAgH889rNdBZ7PTmxZnMmSbSpl8/s1600-h/543337_10150954943424257_789494256_11659068_2000461753_n%25255B5%25255D.jpg"><img style="background-image: none; I didn’t think I would ever see this happen. As you can tell, she isn’t what most people would call a “traditional” girl. I knew dress shopping would be a challenge, but it turned out pretty good. We picked up her dress (a vintage 80’s dress) at a resale store and made a few alterations. Paired with fishnet stockings, Doc Martins and her grandmother’s black beaded necklace, she looked beautiful. Her date went vintage too, which I just love. They had a great time!</p> Lisa Johnsonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09945412883411503173noreply@blogger.com13tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4712752442502672144.post-57615043467679325522012-05-07T07:31:00.001-07:002012-05-07T07:31:25.865-07:00Weekend Stuff<p>Good Monday morning to you all! We had a very busy and productive weekend here at the Johnson house. The mysterious sun decided to make an appearance so lots of outdoor activities were on the agenda. </p> <p>On Saturday, I helped my main squeeze work in the yard a bit. We are currently in the process of trying to clean up the jungle that is our backyard.  Here is the result after hauling a huge pile of bark chips to cover the mud that was there.</p> <p><a href="http://lh3.ggpht.com/-jZpZMfzCAaU/T6fcmpARR8I/AAAAAAAAIbM/m34M5qmL3mk/s1600-h/IMAG0252%25255B4%25255D.jpg"><img style="background-image: none; border-right-width: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: block; float: none; border-top-width: 0px; border-bottom-width: 0px; margin-left: auto; border-left-width: 0px; margin-right: auto; padding-top: 0px" title="IMAG0252" border="0" alt="IMAG0252" src="http://lh4.ggpht.com/-kxMFDhCVaJU/T6fcnZCHEcI/AAAAAAAAIbU/icNLIVM886M/IMAG0252_thumb%25255B2%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="615" height="386" /></a> Very park like now. So nice that I sat back there and ate my delicious peanut butter and jelly sandwich lunch. And in case you’re wondering, that fountain is crooked. Just one of the many projects we still need to work on.</p> <p>After working in the yard a bit, I started to tackle some sanding/painting projects. I even got help from one of my favorite little guys in the whole world.</p> <p><a href="http://lh3.ggpht.com/-uVF2tRN4Zqw/T6fcnqN1ZrI/AAAAAAAAIbc/BghPasC0VI8/s1600-h/IMAG0255%252520%2525282%252529%25255B5%25255D.jpg"><img style="background-image: none; border-right-width: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: block; float: none; border-top-width: 0px; border-bottom-width: 0px; margin-left: auto; border-left-width: 0px; margin-right: auto; padding-top: 0px" title="IMAG0255 (2)" border="0" alt="IMAG0255 (2)" src="http://lh5.ggpht.com/-huKNjZ0cO_Q/T6fcoCftvYI/AAAAAAAAIbk/MzQtG7IeUrM/IMAG0255%252520%2525282%252529_thumb%25255B6%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="450" height="388" /></a></p> <p align="center">I could do a whole post on this awesome boy.</p> <p align="center"><a href="http://lh4.ggpht.com/-clqeigqzfbI/T6fcohGmWQI/AAAAAAAAIbs/RXRdWBlB4ks/s1600-h/IMAG0256%252520%2525282%252529%25255B8%25255D.jpg"><img style="background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: inline; border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px" title="IMAG0256 (2)" border="0" alt="IMAG0256 (2)" src="http://lh4.ggpht.com/-o49zOPg_NFA/T6fcqONQhvI/AAAAAAAAIb0/0ica4bEuGQw/IMAG0256%252520%2525282%252529_thumb%25255B14%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="309" height="395" /></a></p> <p align="center">Can you see some of the stuff behind me. Still using my phone camera as my regular camera is still missing in action. Here you can see I got quite a few bits and pieces including three vintage watches, some bling, another buckle and some little metal spoons. I am very hungry for more vintage bling because I put a huge dent in my stash when I made these last week.</p> <p><a href="http://lh5.ggpht.com/-Q2m2JLF_4Jo/T6fcuX0EwOI/AAAAAAAAIc8/aLouCPEAHdI/s1600-h/IMAG0369%25255B7%25255D.jpg"><img style="background-image: none; border-right-width: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: block; float: none; border-top-width: 0px; border-bottom-width: 0px; margin-left: auto; border-left-width: 0px; margin-right: auto; padding-top: 0px" title="IMAG0369" border="0" alt="IMAG0369" src="http://lh4.ggpht.com/-t-HfECgZbEY/T6fcu89RTeI/AAAAAAAAIdE/gTE3BLiF6fw/IMAG0369_thumb%25255B8%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="462" height="609" /></a></p> <p align="center">Just a few of my newest blingy belt buckles.</p> <p align="center">Now you can see why I need more bling. I used a lot on these cuties.</p> <p align="center">So, there you have it. My busy, but productive weekend. I’ll have more peeks to share in the next few weeks. Lots of projects almost done and many more to start, but I’m feeling good. Hope you have a fabulous Monday!</p> Lisa Johnsonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09945412883411503173noreply@blogger.com7tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4712752442502672144.post-83705296501378629662012-05-02T10:08:00.001-07:002012-05-02T10:08:23.592-07:00White Wednesday~Farm Chicks Sneak Peeks<p>Have been so busy buying, crafting and working on projects for Farm Chicks, which is in just one short month. I had great sales the first two weeks of the month and got lots of super positive feedback on my "Spring Cleaning" theme. </div><div><div> </div><div>I basically emptied out the entire window and started from scratch to create a "Boudoir" theme with a huge rolling clothing rack full of vintage slips, nighties, dresses and more. Lots of jewelry including soldered necklaces, earrings and rings made from vintage finds, ticking pillows and vintages cases, a cute vintage vanity and a unique antique bench/chest which would be perfect at the end of a bed or in an entry.<img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; width: 284px; height: 458px; text-align: center; display: block; cursor: pointer;" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5732964834511445938" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhV9lFXyHg9ICJtSrrdo_HmXoYeOWjsaNm1_EMqYAHneHcCz_OX-CeqqSPzEhZB6XNhrGJNngtrYz8eAwUzEefu_vSZBuCxe624PRYkioy7d-FDRsnU4bSmDYcaym0pfM_OsxQhETnLC6N9/s400/IMAG0339.jpg" /></div><div>Darcey at Monticello took some great pictures of the space which you can see on facebook. If you're not already a facebook fan of Monticello, go right now and like them. It's a great way to get updates on what's going on with sales, specials etc.</div><div> </div><div>I'll be heading back in tomorrow with more goodies for the window and my regular space. Between restocking my booths and getting ready for Farm Chicks, I've beeen one busy girl. TTFN!</div></div>Lisa Johnsonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09945412883411503173noreply@blogger.com10tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4712752442502672144.post-39335683072319606052012-04-03T11:31:00.002-07:002012-04-06T06:34:22.008-07:00Monticello Home & Garden Show<p>Where the heck did March go? What a crazy, busy, fun month that was but here we are, now in April. I had a great visit with my little brother in beautiful Phoenix, AZ. Did quite a bit of thrifting and found some lovely vintage items. We also spent a few days during spring break up in Seattle and Vancouver, BC. The weather was kind of crummy, but we had some great family together time, ate some great food and saw the sites.</p><br /><p>I also spent some time in March getting ready to be the dealer for the window at Monticello for the month of April. Just got moved in yesterday and while I need to add a few things and maybe do a little tweaking here and there. I have to say, I am tickled pink with the results. Here is a picture courtesy of Darcey at Monticello.</p><br /><p><a href="http://lh6.ggpht.com/-6evbnN9CRBM/T3tCEbbRICI/AAAAAAAAIZA/bbRh4Z-xQxg/s1600-h/556645_349164601801704_115359311848902_1028115_92051552_n%25255B3%25255D.jpg"><img style="BACKGROUND-IMAGE: none; BORDER-BOTTOM: 0px; BORDER-LEFT: 0px; PADDING-LEFT: 0px; PADDING-RIGHT: 0px; DISPLAY: block; FLOAT: none; MARGIN-LEFT: auto; BORDER-TOP: 0px; MARGIN-RIGHT: auto; BORDER-RIGHT: 0px; PADDING-TOP: 0px" title="556645_349164601801704_115359311848902_1028115_92051552_n" border="0" alt="556645_349164601801704_115359311848902_1028115_92051552_n" src="http://lh5.ggpht.com/-WoPUR_wr22g/T3tCEjBzUSI/AAAAAAAAIZI/Fbbno2CAwoM/556645_349164601801704_115359311848902_1028115_92051552_n_thumb%25255B1%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="399" height="539" /></a></p><br /><p>Kind of hard to get a good picture of everything as the glare on the window was pretty bad. For the first half of the month I’m going with a Spring Cleaning theme. Then in a couple weeks, I’m going to change it up with a Vintage Boutique theme. So fun to do something new!</p><br /><p>Don’t forget, the Monticello Spring Home & Garden show starts this Friday. Lots and lots of great stuff the dealers have been saving just for this show.</p><br /><p><a href="http://lh6.ggpht.com/-9Y3jd2ajDSg/T3tCFV_l_bI/AAAAAAAAIZQ/FGJ6BpCjKVw/s1600-h/SPRING_2012_front_lo%25255B4%25255D.jpg"><img style="BACKGROUND-IMAGE: none; BORDER-BOTTOM: 0px; BORDER-LEFT: 0px; PADDING-LEFT: 0px; PADDING-RIGHT: 0px; DISPLAY: block; FLOAT: none; MARGIN-LEFT: auto; BORDER-TOP: 0px; MARGIN-RIGHT: auto; BORDER-RIGHT: 0px; PADDING-TOP: 0px" title="SPRING_2012_front_lo" border="0" alt="SPRING_2012_front_lo" src="http://lh3.ggpht.com/-64aN7hnk-mQ/T3tCF4bQRlI/AAAAAAAAIZY/ybawx1jB8o0/SPRING_2012_front_lo_thumb%25255B1%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="675" height="463" /></a></p><br /><p>As you can see, the show runs through May 28, and the dealers will be continually restocking, so make sure to come in often. </p><br /><p>My next big show is Farm Chicks, the first weekend in June. Starting to get really excited about it. Lots of projects in the works and I know it will be here before I know it. Now, if only the weather would cooperate a bit so I could work on those projects. TTFN!</p>Lisa Johnsonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09945412883411503173noreply@blogger.com11tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4712752442502672144.post-6870949537253147172012-03-17T01:22:00.008-07:002012-03-17T01:55:35.327-07:00Hello<div><div><div>I am currently out of town, visiting my brother in beautiful, sunny Arizona. Had a great day hanging out with local celebrity, <a href="http://www.vintagebliss.typepad.com">Tricia Samsal of Vintage Bliss fame.</a> She was my tour guide, taking me to the <a href="http://www.sweetsalvage.blogspot.com">Sweet Salvage </a>sale as well as some other awesome shops. Also spent a day hitting as many thrift stores as I could find. So much fun!</div><div><div><div><div> </div><div><br />I'll be home soon and will be busy getting ready to "do the window" at Monticello for the month of April. I'm super excited as this is my first time and I have some great things planned. Hope you will all come in to check it out. The Spring Sale starts April 6 and is guaranteed to have some of the best vendors and merchandise around. </div><div> </div><div><br />In the meantime, I'll leave you with a few pics of some things I found before I left on my trip.<img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; width: 469px; height: 337px; text-align: center; display: block; cursor: pointer;" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5720786145789445442" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEioMk-bWVLUEFuZg5eKdV1UbPVJXNNkmQ5_bGteTlr59q6Xxb3P-qvuxodwyqQOY6zTfOcuY6QDqdjf9xGAl4KNhal7p1hiu16HzZhQqlGIpeDNr6R_PuSQGRnfd_ltUBkAdCVbbqEl4a-f/s400/007.JPG" /></div><div> </div><div> <img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; width: 459px; height: 352px; text-align: center; display: block; cursor: pointer;" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5720784525518459442" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj6u09zM9zwtJngyR0wv_iCIE1mSq3ofn5XsZzrQu7Bdv2rHYXs3SLVcNPGFsNzbvI-9KOV04a4ZzsRSn4sVMFi8i9AoZj2ziuFj8zARvxWu6EqQhmjOMiLCPPk3ye7sY8JzT3o-1LMNIIS/s400/005.JPG" /></div><div><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; width: 507px; height: 440px; text-align: center; display: block; cursor: pointer;" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5720781857704636786" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhZEyYS3l0a-H10minJB9xGy_SCMwCWPS_uYSpQjiEjvgsJib35t9wYc3ixsnrA5aA_2wpoNPrqCpKKySYoLjLSuZg3T_rUjt3uyxYXNJMLIOkUldThrpRF4mli42SP4XXf_-7VpPq6NyRk/s400/003.JPG" /><br /> <img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; width: 514px; height: 424px; text-align: center; display: block; cursor: pointer;" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5720783409339079378" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhw4f3TUnKkRVl52a9MnzJdYlRgMNWn5sdcoRvbiriPUsOT2UpVJuAx5k52jcSatg0IJnUa1fGGsdBDe-7jft2bqWs_psnh4F7czJpwFiQUIfNVDOvT0lT0kDHmo3eNxBl4eQI0q1C7IAD2/s400/001.JPG" /></div></div></div></div></div></div>Lisa Johnsonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09945412883411503173noreply@blogger.com9tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4712752442502672144.post-70480715030577172182012-03-02T08:11:00.001-08:002012-03-02T08:11:29.924-08:00Something old is new again<p>Wow! Where did this week go? Where did February go, for that matter. Time is a flyin! Spent this week playing catch up from being gone last weekend. Laundry, etc.  Did a little thrifting too and found some cool stuff, but this post isn’t about that. It’s about something else.</p> <p>Last summer, a very nice gal who was getting out of the antiques biz and was moving out of her gorgeous home, invited <a href="http://www.isabellang.blogspot.com">Isabel</a> and me over to preview her garage sale.  She had tons of cool stuff and I bought a lot! Including this:</p> <p><a href="http://lh5.ggpht.com/-QEwjpwk3OC0/T1DxJquaEkI/AAAAAAAAIXA/LpNsRbeZgpA/s1600-h/001%25255B5%25255D.jpg"><img style="background-image: none; border-right-width: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: block; float: none; border-top-width: 0px; border-bottom-width: 0px; margin-left: auto; border-left-width: 0px; margin-right: auto; padding-top: 0px" title="001" border="0" alt="001" src="http://lh5.ggpht.com/-6jVmDW6Hsso/T1DxJ9DRriI/AAAAAAAAIXI/FlGNNfw2s_0/001_thumb%25255B2%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="566" height="439" /></a></p> <p>It was the first thing I saw and I loved it. The rusty patina was perfect, but I wanted to swap out those funky composite type shelves for some glass ones. The wheels on it were in sad shape too so I replaced those.  Here is the finished piece for sale at the Barn House Vintage Marketplace last July.</p> <p><a href="http://lh5.ggpht.com/-i90u4hk46Ec/T1DxKjOyM8I/AAAAAAAAIXQ/etN5PFFpjgY/s1600-h/009%25255B4%25255D.jpg"><img style="background-image: none; border-right-width: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: block; float: none; border-top-width: 0px; border-bottom-width: 0px; margin-left: auto; border-left-width: 0px; margin-right: auto; padding-top: 0px" title="009" border="0" alt="009" src="http://lh4.ggpht.com/-M7Zms4HM8ZE/T1DxLMj7EBI/AAAAAAAAIXY/OuUJI5C7J2k/009_thumb%25255B1%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="490" height="663" /></a></p> <p>It was one of the first things to sell and I could have sold it several times over. Sweet <a href="http://www.forevercottage.blogspot.com">Jill of Forever Cottage</a> bought it to use it as an unconventional sofa table in her great room.</p> <img style="background-image: none; border-right-width: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: block; float: none; border-top-width: 0px; border-bottom-width: 0px; margin-left: auto; border-left-width: 0px; margin-right: auto; padding-top: 0px" title="IMG_0358" border="0" alt="IMG_0358" src="http://lh4.ggpht.com/-4u65yPJKtR4/T1DxLhjx4jI/AAAAAAAAIXg/CXnBc4CMLxA/IMG_0358_thumb%25255B2%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="404" height="570" /> <p align="center"></p> <p align="center">I love where it landed. </p> <p align="left">One of the fun parts of selling at shows, as opposed to selling at a shop or mall, is you actually get to meet the people who buy your stuff and see the excitement when they fall in love with something I fell in love with too. But rarely do you get to see how that piece is used and where it ends up. So, I was super excited when Jill posted the above picture on her blog.</p> <p align="left">On that note, I would like to invite you, if you have purchased something from me, either at a show or at one of my booths, to use in your own home, to send me a picture of it. I’d love to share it here on my blog for everyone to see. You can email it to me, if you would like, at <a href="mailto:athingforroses@hotmail.com">athingforroses@hotmail.com</a>.</p> <p align="left">Thought I would also show you this cute cabinet that Jill bought from my good friend, Mitzi, out of her Stars booth. I first saw the cabinet when Mitzi brought it home from a sale. It was so adorable and unique. Apparently Jill thought so too, and bought it shortly after it made it’s way to Mitzi’s booth.</p> <p align="left"><a href="http://lh5.ggpht.com/-49SVq5UKS9E/T1DxL_Sp-ZI/AAAAAAAAIXo/M-GgcDrmeTw/s1600-h/IMG_1284%25255B3%25255D.jpg"><img style="background-image: none; border-right-width: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: block; float: none; border-top-width: 0px; border-bottom-width: 0px; margin-left: auto; border-left-width: 0px; margin-right: auto; padding-top: 0px" title="IMG_1284" border="0" alt="IMG_1284" src="http://lh5.ggpht.com/-yxesvHj-htY/T1DxMMQkMgI/AAAAAAAAIXw/0mjqBAdAi18/IMG_1284_thumb%25255B1%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="383" height="572" /></a> </p> <p align="center">Thanks to Jill for letting me use her pictures. She has a fabulous and lovely home and I couldn’t be happier that she has  little something from me in it. </p> <p align="center">Hope you all have a wonderful weekend!</p> Lisa Johnsonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09945412883411503173noreply@blogger.com13
