Old Finds/Old Friends

Just a few of the goodies I’ve picked up over the last week or so.

001

Found this diamond in the rough at The Bins. It didn’t have a price tag on it so I called over a guy to come help me and told him, “this piece is in sad shape, but I’ll give it a good home if the price is right.” He gave me a screaming deal. I have big plans for this gal. She’ll be making her debut in the window at Monticello in April.

I had a fabulous weekend with four girl friends from high school. We stayed at a lovely house on the beach, ate wonderful food, laughed, walked on the beach and reminisced. There’s just something about the people who knew you when you were young. Here we are getting ready to head out. As you can see, I’m the most ready with my hat and scarf.

That’s all for now. Hope you are all having a great week so far!

The Loves of my Life

I don’t need it to be Valentine’s Day to remind me that these three cuties are the loves of my life.

DSCF0886_thumb[1]

This picture is a little old. Mother’s Day 2010 to be exact. It’s fun to see how the kids have changed and grown up since then. Makes me realize though, that I need to get some new pictures taken. My daughter will be graduating high school in June then off to college in the Fall which will be bittersweet for me.

I hope wherever you are, you can share the day with the loves of your life. Happy Valentine’s Day!

More Finds

001

This dresser was a find from last summer. I finally pulled it out of the garage, fixed it up a bit and took it to Monticello where it sold the very same day.

004

Found these goodies while out thrifting a couple weeks ago. Sold the paper roll thingy, scrolly brackets and two drawer cabinet at Junk Salvation last weekend. Love that little mirror with the birds etched on it. Reminds me of “Portlandia.” “Put a bird on it!”

005

I love finding crochet and velvet vintage hangers which I always keep. The rhinestone bow pin was added to my collection and the pitcher was a gift for my Mom who loves blue.

007

Also found this little assortment of vintage towels. Love that someone took the time to embroider something pretty onto something useful.

008

This one was funny and a reminder not to be naughty.

010

Found the lamp and shade in two different thrift stores, but they are really cute together. The little candy holder is one I’ve had/sold before, always love the bingo cards for packaging small items, more hangers and I can never pass up those metal reflector thingys. They make cute ornaments with a little bling added to them.

011

Another rose ticking feather pillow.

012

Cute coin purse key chain and two rhinestone bracelets.

And finally, my favorite recent find.

001

Found this adorable vintage pink desk at Stars yesterday. I really didn’t need it. Couldn’t think of a place where I could use it, but just couldn’t leave it behind.  I knew I would be thinking about it when I got home so I went ahead and bought it.

002

Looks so sweet with this little stool I’ve had in my bedroom for years.

004

How cute it it with this cabinet on top? I’ve had that cabinet in my bedroom forever. It was one of my first antique/vintage purchases and I have never gotten tired of it. It has been a bedside table and just a great storage cabinet. Not sure if it will stay here or not, but I’ll try it for awhile.

008

A good place for my two French fabric covered boxes and little bears.

006

Still working on getting my bedroom put back together after the big painting project.  Seems to be taking me forever. Trying to minimize and de-clutter, but it’s just so hard. I love so many things. We did finally do the tv cabinet switcheroo as we broke down and finally got a big flat screen so that means decorating changes in the living room. Hopefully I’ll be able to share that soon too. Bye for now!

FJS~Junk Salvation Finds

With so many great dealers at this show, I knew I was bound to find some treasures. So happy with what I brought home.

028

Cotton and lace petticoat, old lace and white handled brush came from sweet Lisa (not sure she has a blog). The gorgeous French box and lampshade from my good buddy, Amy of  Into Vintage, rose covered drapery panels from dear Isabel of Maison Douce and the lace runner came from Sara at Roost.

030

Got this lovely white mirror from Sue at Birdsong.

031

And finally, the mirror came from Jody at Le Faded Fleur and the chenille/pom pom curtains came from Diane at Molly Mo’s.

As you can see, I’ve been playing around a little with my blog header and layout. Not completely happy with it, but I’ll keep futzing. This is where I wish I was a little more computer savvy. Help!

Funky Junk Sisters~Junk Salvation 2012

Good Monday morning! Took me a full day to recover from the whirlwind FJS weekend in Hillsboro. Actually, I’m still pooped and I still have a bit of sorting and clean-up to do, but that’s okay. I just wanted to share some pictures I took of the show. I didn’t have a lot of time to walk around as it was pretty busy, and I only got one good picture of my booth and no pictures of my buddy, Isabel’s booth which was right next to mine, but I know she will be sharing some fabulous pictures soon. Here goes!

I just want to thank everyone who came, visited, shopped. Without you, I couldn’t do what I do. You not only make it more fun, but you make it possible for me to continue to do what I love. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

On my next post, I’ll share the goodies I bought.
